Motel 6 Baltimore West

Room felt clean. Arrived around 10pm and door was locked, so had to use a side check-in outside of lobby area, which wasn't the most welcoming. Also, there was no coffee, a little thing but they advertise it and guests appreciate it... for the price, not bad.

Room was clean, but smelled of smoke. (I asked for a non-smoking room) Lots of noise from other guests on Friday and Saturday nights/early morning. Front desk staff when I checked in was not friendly. Checked me in, did not ask me to sign anything, didn't ask about or offer wifi. Front desk at checkout was very nice and explained my bill to me. Good value and location for work at Pimlico during Preakness Stakes.

I loved this little motel. I stayed at the Baltimore West Motel 6. It was clean, quiet, really hot shower, and very friendly people at the front desk. Lana was there when I checked in and checked out. What a nice young woman. Thank you for keeping the rates affordable for working people like me. I will come again.

Our experience started off good with the front desk help. They were very helpful and quick to get us checked in. We got to our room and that was when it was a terrible experience. We requested a non smoking room and our room stunk like smoke and had a plastic bag over the fire detector. Then the bathroom, the floors, and every surface looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. We went out to buy cleaning products and air freshners to try to get rid of the smell, but it didn't help at all. While wiping down the floor we cleaned up blood from the floor to only find out later on that someone overdosed in our room the week before. I saw the video the neighbor had taken from the incident and it was pretty graphic! The front desk denied it saying it never happened though! It's a shame that the room still had blood on the floor and it clearly shows the cleaning people don't show pride in their job and cleaning the room well. The area was terrible and didn't feel safe where we stayed at either. Our siblings stayed at the same place and they had a pet friendly room that was cleaner than our room was! We were offered to move rooms, but the room we were shown smelt just like our current smoke smelling room. I honestly wish we could rate this place negative instead of the one star it is making me choose! Lastly, when we got home all of our clean clothes we didn't wear and everything we brought into our house smelt like stale smoke. I can only imagine how bad we smelt by just sleeping there. We should be reimbursed money for having to get all of our clothes dry cleaned and also the money we spent on the air freshners that did nothing at all!

The bathroom was dirty, the covers for the bed was burnt. Thank goodness I brought my own toothpaste and other personal for my hygiene. All there was is soap. I had to buy an extra blanket. Our stay was not pleasant.
