Went in at 3am after throwing up 30+ times in 2 days. Immediately was asked if I smoked cannabis and I said yes I have a medical card. Asked me no more questions and told me I had cannabis poisoning or something. Refused to listen to any of my other concerns. Didn’t wanna pay thousands of dollars for that to be my diagnosis so I asked for another doctor. The other doctor there didn’t even see me but agreed with the other doctor. So I left and went home where I almost died : At 6am had to call an ambulance and it turns out I had salmonella and needed 3 iv bags before I could even urinate. Heart rate was barely existent. This “doctor” almost killed me because he was obsessed with this idea that cannabis is toxic. Medial malpractice doesn’t even begin to cover it. I reached out to the hospital to file a complaint because I didn’t want him to actually Somebody next time. I was called and left a voicemail from HR and when I called back, they never returned or never replied to my complaint. Do not send your family members or yourself there for an emergency you will not be listened to and it could cost you your life.
Went here to give birth to my baby and my epidural failed 3 times. One nurse in labor & delivery LAUGHED when I was screaming in excruciating pain and the last thing I wanted in that moment was for a nurse who is supposed to be caring for me to be that unprofessional. It made me feel horrible and I hated that she ended up being there for my delivery. Then after going to the operating room, the delivery room I was in was cleaned and they lost all my jewelry I had to take out and I wasn't offered reimbursement. In the operating room I was given medication through an IV to help calm me down while I was getting my stitches and my bleeding controlled but wasn’t told I was going to basically be asleep, able to feel everything and hear everything but not able to move or speak which was traumatizing. I tried telling the anesthesiologist I did not want any kind of medication that would make me feel completely out of it but then he pushed the IV anyway and completely disregarded my concerns. I was horrified through the entire procedure. All that made me question the staffs ability to care for my son and had panic attacks every time they would take him away thinking something bad was going to happen to him. I so badly wanted to leave and go to a different hospital but couldn’t. After they took me to the mother infant unit ordering food was impossible. The first time I ordered food it was for lunch and I didn’t receive it until 6 hours later after calling back repeatedly asking where it is. I ended up having to buy the expensive cafeteria food multiple times instead of them billing my insurance and had to worry about money the whole time I was there when I shouldn’t have had to while recovering from the nightmare I just had to endure. On top of everything, the nurses in the mother infant unit were extremely rude and incompetent not all of them, but most of them because they kept messing up my IV and it was painful the whole time I had it in. One nurse got my blood all over my pillow from home then said she’d try to clean it with peroxide then never returned. When I requested a different nurse to replace it for me they still couldn’t get it in my vein and I just gave up and kept the painful one in my arm until we left. I’m so relieved to finally be out of there and for my next child I definitely will NOT be returning.
Came in at about 10:30am, took about an hour for triage, then 2 hour wait for a room, and then about another 2 hour wait for tests to be done and results to show. Staff was nice but the room wasn't equipped with the supplies they needed so they had to do a lot of back and forth to retrieve what they needed. Seen other reviews of the long waits so I suggest coming here in the morning because you're more likely to be seen, if it's later you might be better off going somewhere else by the reviews I've seen.
My mother had an imaging appointment here and there is a guy at reception who was very rude with her because her English was not so good. A place like this should deal with all people from different backgrounds equally. The guy definitely has a nasty attitude with foreigners and needs to be trained or fired. He is lucky that I was not with her!
The nurse Colleen who works late through the week is rude & the absolute worst nurse I have ever had to be around. Forcing shots on someone who denies it, is horrible! All because they asked to go home. A doctor had already been in to see the patient, but Colleen says they are “waiting to see a doctor”. She never mentions it would be morning before the doctor got there, but there was no need, already saw a doctor. Was forced to sit in a room with no pillow, or television & can hear some woman continuously, hysterically crying for hours. She cried nonstop for 6-7 hours. Was told she was crying prior to patient/me arriving there! Ask to leave, don’t want to hear the woman crying anymore & they force 2 shots/injections - drugging the patient! The injections were boldly & coherently denied! Then… they send an outrageous, totally exaggerated bill. Making any patient listen to that woman crying hysterically for hours is not okay! Ian heard the woman crying, knew it was a problem for the patient, because they talked about it! Ian was told he got paid to listen to it, but the patient did not & wanted to leave! Ian told Colleen that the patient wanted to leave & that is when Colleen came in with a group of people, forced 2 shots/injections -drugging the patient! Patient says they deny the shots & Colleen states they will hold the patient down!? There is no proof whatsoever this patient was a problem or needed that treatment. Actually, after Colleen forced the shots, the patient tells them they’re horrible & will contact a lawyer! Colleen leaves the room & the patient was told, “it wasn’t me” by the others that had talked to the patient the entire time. Ed can verify they sat in a room with no blankets or tv for 6-7 hours because he got them when he came in that morning.! You can’t keep people at the hospital against their will! They asked to leave & had a ride! They came in willingly on their own by ambulance! You Charge all these charges that should not exist! Not your $ to spend! The next morning the doctor that was waited for literally came in just to discharge the patient. Lindsey & Ian both talked to the patient for a long time & can verify the patient did nothing to deserve the aggressive, forced shots. Was not being rude, asked to leave! Colleen should be investigated. A cop the patient saw before arriving at the hospital can verify the same thing the patient told the doctor the patient saw shortly after arriving at the hospital! The cop can also verify the patient wasn’t causing problems, and went to be checked willingly. The person came to the hospital on their own free will to be checked for injuries & get help! Instead got treated like a prisoner. Patient was walking/talking/using the bathroom & getting their own water! Could make their own choices! I would assume the hospital has cameras! * I saw the lies that Colleen, or Colleen & Ian told to the Doctor to get the shots forced. I DID NOT say “I was going to leave without my stuff, I am done”. There was a woman non stop crying, she kept walking to the bathroom, that was infront of my room, sobbing & carrying a babydoll! Your report says agitated & irate? Again, stop lying! It was extreme & I didn’t want to hear or see it anymore! For Colleen to be the one to make the lies in the report, well, she wasn’t even there to witness what was said. So, Colleen & Ian should get their lies straight & stop lying to the doctor to get shots forced on people! Maybe the doctor should actually investigate! Nurses like Colleen & Ian should not have so much control over anyone! Trinity Health has been awesome throughout all of this. I have nothing but good things to say about Trinity Health, and their employees.
Went here for a right ankle sprain, a sprain painful and swollen can’t even put pressure on my foot at all, foot going numb and it’s starting to bruise. I was calm and nice even tho I was in pain mind you I have high pain tolerance seems like they were just brushing me off there shoulders. These new workers just have no empathy for people anymore, they released me with no crutches and barely wanted to help me out to get to a uber driver. Saying they don’t give out crutches for sprains, I literally can’t put any weight on my right foot how do they expect me to get up to be able to ice my foot, use the bathroom etc. This new world we live in just wows me more and more
EDIT: they are now sending me a bill for the doctor that I waited for that never came, for admittance to a room I never got. When I try to explain to the customer service? "You aren't hearing me, its not a charge for a doctor you didn't see, its for the doctor you did see" that I didn't see That's not even mentioning they bill you for the ER and the doctor that doesn't show separately as two different locations, so they can charge you two copays. I'll start by saying they were very busy. And I understand that. I arrived by ambulance around 10am. They didn't have enough rooms so I was in a bed in the hallway. Totally fine. They ran multiple tests up to around 2pm. Cool so far. A physical therapist comes around 2:15 and walks me around to assess. I'm assuming a nurse saw this and didn't see him with me because 30 minutes later the Columbus Police are at my house talking to the kids about how Mount Carmel East called them that they saw me leave the building with IVs in. About the same time I was in the hall talking to a Doctor. Who said I could probably leave that day. I'm guessing whoever called the cops also marked me AWOL because no one else ever came to my bed. Two hours later I asked about leaving and a very kind pharmacist said she would put out messages to the doctor and nurse. 30 minutes later after no reply I asked for my IVs be removed and allowed to sign out. I was asked to wait to talk to a doctor. 30 minutes later a doctor arrived and said I cannot leave because I still need an MRI to rule out a diagnosis that neither the EMS, nor any Doctor I had seen, thought I had. After voicing I do not want to stay and want to just come back for the tests, he asked that I wait while he goes and checks how long it would be for the MRI and would be right back. I agreed. I waited an hour. He never came back. After sitting in the hallway, not allowed to eat, not allowed to do anything really, for over 9 hours, I signed an AMA and left.
We arrived there from VA hospital urgent care around 2:30 pm. We were checked in and told to find a seat in a visually packed waiting area. I asked her where? She told me to look in the other room. It was so sad, how people were packed in that place. You all have to do better…she finally opened the door for us to enter another waiting area to wait to be triaged. I’m 67 pushing my husband in a wheelchair. No one offered to assist, not that it mattered to me. He gets triaged and we sat until after midnight before we got a room. I was told by this young dark haired man that we were the longest waiting, but it could be hours. At this point, I began to pray for our situation and the other people waiting, God told me to go back to the front desk. I returned to the front desk and there was an angel sitting there. I asked her how long, she said we were next. I told her the guy said “hours”, she nodded. I ask, could I just take him home and come back after I/we got some rest. She said, no, don’t do that, just to wait a few minutes and she would see what she could do. This angel was back within minutes calling us back to get a bed. I live 8 minutes from the hospital. My husband was admitted, and I arrived home at 2:30 am.
Had emergency surgery here and every person who helped me from triage, ER, food service staff, custodians, all the way up to surgeons were amazing and so kind. Extremely diverse staff, all really nice people working together to help others. Saw them treat combative and belligerent patients exactly as kindly and compassionately as they treated me. All around great experience. Negative ratings are “reviewing” America’s broken and messed up medical system. It’s understandable, but it’s misplaced. People who have bad experiences, rather than leaving a bad Google review, doesn’t it make way more sense for you to vote and canvas for candidates who support fixing American health care and call your congressional representatives if you want to voice your frustration and give someone a piece of your mind?
This is the slowest hospital that I've ever seen in my life several times I went out to get the nurse when my son had surgery Monday morning and there was no one absolutely no one at the nurses station. My son said he was cleared to go home and that was at 7:00 this morning and I have been waiting in the parking lot since 8:30 a.m. and still have no sign of my son. One day when I came up here to visit him there was a sick man in the parking garage and he was ringing the emergency response call button in the parking garage and it took him three or four times to say hello hello help me help me and I went in because I didn't know what I was hearing I just heard someone talking real loud and I asked him if he was okay and he said no ma'am I'm not he said I'm going to pass out and after just a couple seconds after I got his arm around me he fell to the ground. Luckily another man was coming into the garage and he ran up and caught them in from behind because I couldn't have held him for very long and do you know they had to call 911 to come and get him when they were in a parking garage at a hospital that's ridiculous security came out but they still had to call an ambulance to come and get him up out of the parking garage. You would think that they would have some kind of system they have somebody got hurt on this premises they could get them back to the ER some way somehow but now they had to call 911 because the fire truck came the ambulance came isn't that ridiculous to be on the premises of a hospital and can't get into the hospital because you have to wait on an ambulance I go to this hospital because my cardiologist is here but I do not like this hospital I prefer Grant or OSU East but I am thankful for my cardiologist because he is a super super doctor thank you Dr Addo.
