Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery

When I got there and checked the beer list I was delighted to see they sell full pint beers for $6 (see menu), although when it arrived it came in a standard beer glass (see picture). I double checked with the waitress who was rather new to working there, she checked with the manager whether these were the correct glasses for 16 oz beers. She said they were (even though they could not possibly hold 16 oz as advertised). Then the burger came medium rare and service and food was sub par. I recommend avoiding!! Go to Boulder beer on walnut instead - they have better lunch specials too.

Excellent service. Had tasters of all their beers at no charge. Liked 5 out of the 20 on tap. Devoured the food pretty quickly, so must've been good. Will have to remember that they don't take credit/debit cards but there's an ATM down the hall.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The place was busy when we arrived, 30 minute wait but they encouraged us to head to the back bar for free beer samples, all of which were delicious. Every single waiter/ waitress was overly friendly and personable. About 10 minutes later we were given free French fries and then seated at our table. The food and beers were cheap and delicious and the portions huge. Incredible management and staff

*This place is cash only* DON'T let that scare you away from it! Come and enjoy free tastes from the bar in the back. Has a good vibe and plenty to look at and visually enjoy. The food is AMAZING. You won't go wrong with any choice here. There are games to play at your table as well. The beer selection is great and they will talk you through what you like in a beer and help you make the best choice. Overall this place is worth a visit, if you live in Boulder, or if you are just in town for the weekend this place is a good bet!

The staff at Mountain Sun are incredibly welcoming and familial. On a very busy night, I waited for a seat while sipping on dozens of local brews for about 30 minutes at the walkup bar. Every bar tender knew their beers inside and out and were able to locate the origins of the nuances in each sip. After finishing a pint of my favorite pour, I was tired from travel and chose to order to go, and when I went to pay my bill I was treated with both my beer and burger on the house for waiting for some time. I must add that the First Date Burger with goat cheese and date glaze cooked medium rare was by far the best burger I have ever had, bar none. Thank you gentleman for such a welcoming first (but certainly not last) trip to Boulder, CO.
