Munson Ski & Marine

The purpose of this review is to HIGHLY recommend Munson Ski & Marine. My wife and I attended the 2017 Chicago Boat, RV and Sail Show to learn more about boating in Chicago and ordered a new 2017 Chaparral 270 Signature from Munson Ski & Marine. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. We chose to purchase our boat through Munson Ski & Marine because my wife and I were very impressed with how professional, courteous and knowledgeable the staff was throughout the entire purchasing process. From making recommendations which saved us money to ensuring that we were comfortable with all the decisions we made while designing our boat, we left the boat show excited for the Summer. When the day came for us to take delivery, our delivery Captain met the high standards I was expecting based upon my initial interactions with the company. Not only was he a very proficient Captain, he was customer centric and made sure that my wife and I had fun and enjoyed the delivery experience. When it was time to start discussing putting the boat away for the winter months, the parts and service team was extremely supportive in helping me understand my options (ex. inside vs. outside storage). They continue to be outstanding with answering any and all questions I have while the boat is in storage as well. After owing a boat for a year and having the opportunity to work with Munson Ski & Marine, I HIGHLY recommend them. Owing a boat is one of the best (and most fun) decisions I have made and I am confident that a significant portion of our enjoyment was (and continues to be) directly related to choosing Munson Ski & Marine as our partner.

Bought a used pontoon from Munson on Rte 12 and 120. Will never do business with them again. The engine never ran right and they wanted to charge me by double the guaranteed quote for warranty service, which didn't fix the problem. I ended up using an independent mechanic who informed me that the engine had been in a fire. After spending $ 1000 in electrical repairs that should have been made by Munson before delivering the boat, it finally is running right. Obviously Munson never checked it out. The salesman saying " we never sell junk" was the frosting on the cake, other than the owner saying they don't need customers like me because they are so busy. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where your business is appreciated. Don't confuse this Munson with the Munson on Grand Ave in Fox Lake. They are terrific people and I have been extremely happy with their great service. Same name, but attitude is night and day.

Horrible experience and over the phone customer service. Guy wouldn't look up a part because he said he had other things going on and didnt have time after telling him I was going to buy it from him. Never dealing with munson again. 3rd bad experience and I've only dealt with them 3 times. Save yourself and go to skipper buds

Purchased a new Chapparal in 2017 from Munson and overall a good experience. After the purchase working with a Lisa and her service team was fantatsic. She was very responsive and quite frankly great to work with!

I love the customer service I am always greeted with a big smile and a warm welcome... I highly recommend this marina!
