Nancy's Nannies, Inc.

I first used this service a couple of years ago while on a vacation with a couple of other friends who were Mothers. It was a great solution then. Recently we have grown quickly from a family of five to a family of seven with my two nieces. When a friend was engaged I needed a last minute sitter and I remembered Nancy's Nannies also served Wilmington (where we live) so I thought I'd give them a call. They sent the most incredible woman to my home who was more than capable of watching our children as she has years of experience not only in childcare and development, but she has raised five of her own children as well. Our situation involves working with Department of Social Services and Nancy, as well as Beth (our sitter,) have been so incredibly accommodating. When I leave I know my children are being cared for by someone who is engaged with whats going on in their brains. Every time she comes to our home the children run to her. She has offered to help with my oldest sons reading. She has given me wonderful tips on handling so many children (ages 12, 5, 3 and two turning two this month.) I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to leave knowing my children are not only being well cared for but they are also with someone they want to be with. I would HIGHLY recommend Nancy's Nannies for anything from last minute care to creating a relationship with someone to use regularly.

If I could give no stars I would. My sister hired Nancy Nannies for her wedding rehearsal and wedding. She prepared the lady that there would be multiple kids and they are all young most under 5. The lady assured her that they do this all the time and only one babysitter would be needed. The sitter came with no toys, no games, and did not seem to know how to interact with small children. The kids would be crying and she would just look at them and not even try to comfort them. During the wedding, someone came up to me and said where is the babysitter since all the kids were outside running around. I run upstairs and she is hanging out watching tv talking to my cousins and uncles. I confronted her and told her to not even worry about my kids because obviously she couldn't handle it. I told her to just watch my sisters son, 1 child that is it and she could barely handle that. She went up to my sister during her dinner at her wedding because she was worried about what type of review we would leave. Well here is your review. I don't know what type of business you are running or wear you are getting your babysitters from but I would highly recommend doing more research and screening on your employees. I hope you refund my sister her money seeing as that she paid for a babysitter that did nothing that we asked.

I was definitely not impressed! My husband and I had an event and she is who the company hired for childcare. Our baby is 3 months old and I was told to bring a pack and play, stroller or something to put her in because if not she could just be laying on a blanket on the floor. We took her stroller which reclines for her to sleep in. When we went to pick her up someone else's child (age about 6/7) was pushing my daughter around in her stroller not buckled in. The lady was also so excited to tell us how much they loved our daughter that they passed her all around! She is 3 months old, you shouldn't just be passing her around to everyone! For all we know the other kid was holding her too! Definitely not worth the money, if I had known what was going to happen I would have kept her with me. I pray to God she doesn't get sick now from being passed around to everyone! But in the end I'm just so thankful that nothing serious happened to her. I won't ever be using them again nor will I recommend them! There is no apologizing or fixing this, someone who had "had this company 25 years" should know better and take better care of children.
