New Mexico Human Services Department

Moved from Farmington, NM to Albuquerque last month. Not working yet and need Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) aka food stamps. Applied on the computer at their office. Was simple to answer questions, simple yes and no questions. The staff was very polite, they assisted me on getting on their computer to fill out questionnaire. Caseworker was nice and helpful. He needed to verify a question. He told me I need to go get paperwork filled out or call my old employer for information. Waiting time was approximately 3-1/2 hours, Arrived at 11:50 am, left about 3:30 pm. Don't understand why people complain about how long Human Services take, or about intake questions, they have guidelines or procedures to follow. If they need proof or documentation for you to receive assistance, get it! Don't rate the place by what you couldn't receive from them. Besides it's free assistance. What do you expect? Was approved for assistance and will get my SNAP tomorrow. Thank You America.

I have a great experience every time I go to this location. Very friendly, professional and considerate of my time. They always get me in out in a timely manner. I'm grateful for that.

I showed up right when they opened. Friendly security guard. Fast and efficient service.

Long waits are to be expected. The staff is friendly, patient, and understanding. Very professional considering their heavy workload.
