Everyone, I had the best stay in the Normandy building. I truly loved all staff especially Lili the building manager. She truly went above and beyond to ensure all my inquiries were promptly resolved. It was super clean and I never had any problems with anyone in the building. The maintenance staff is helpful and respectful. I never had issues! The only reason I left is because I bought a house.
I am walking around quality hill this morning looking at possible places to live, and i’ve been calling the numbers I see. I understand it’s a Saturday so many places may not be open - but I called the number on the Normandy building this morning and the woman on the phone was so rude. When I asked if this was the Normandy apartments, she said “Well you’re calling on a Saturday so this is Lydia” *I don’t remember it that’s her name, started with an L - I was so shocked by how she spoke to me I was speechless* Oh, and then she hung up on me. What she said was rude, but her tone was worse. I was simply asking if they were open for viewings or if I could schedule one since I liked the building. Now I know for sure I won’t be living here. Thanks, Lydia, or whatever your name is.
I’ve lived in this building for almost 5 years now. Granted it’s a very good price and all utilities are included, Del Properties really doesn’t have their priorities straight. They just added carpet in the lobby that was not needed whatsoever. That money should have been put towards new washers and dryers. We have had the same ones since I moved in, in 2018. It’s annoying when you have to take at least 4 hours out of your day just to dry your clothes because 1 dryer actually works. It’s also a waste of money.
This apartment has been amazing. Rei, the manager, is probably the reason why this place is so well maintained. The location is perfect. There is usually no issue and if there were, most of them were handled of pretty quickly. Overall, I would say I have enjoy my time here.
***5 month update: So far so good. I like the charm of the building and it's maintained well. Tenants mostly keep to themselves. Walls are on the thinner side.. There's some small annoyances like water pressure and elevator issues but that's to be expected with an older building. Rei and his team are pretty on top of maintenance though I haven't personally needed help. This summer was a little rough because the apartment traps heat/humidity so turn on your units early in the morning. Great location with a parking garage next door.*** Came in recently for a showing and signed a lease on the spot! Accommodating, professional, friendly and informative. Rei is awesome!
Forget what you knew BEFORE or heard!! These apartments have been completely transformed. From the lobby to the hallways, to the basement, this place is awesome for the money. My particular unit and the areas inside and out are well kept. The maintenance workers go out of their way to keep things clean and tidy, on a daily they are vacuuming the halls and maintaining the inside and outside appearance of the building. No evidence of any sort of pest or rodents. Management takes the liberty of making you feel secure and safe with key card entry and cameras on every turn. The laundry area is great, there's seating, a soda machine and yes a token dispenser for laundry but I believe this is just for security measures, not a big deal for me. The application process was not complicated at all. Rules are explained and sound completely fair. Rei is the most professional, compassionate property manager I have met yet. You can tell he is passionate about making Normandy apartments better for the residents and the community. Oh and the rent is fair considering the great location. I have had several packages delivered in my absence I'm a huge on line shopper and Rei will take the liberty of getting it to my unit or it sits down in the lobby safe and untouched until my arrival, which is sometimes pretty late, so it's awesome to have trustworthy neighbors as well. This location is worth looking into!!!
I have been here since March, 2018 and I have only had a few issues. But since the new Manager Rei took over, things have been better. Fleas come from having animals in the building, that's normal. I haven't had any issues with that problem. The elevator door was broke on the 5th floor only, but the elevator was still operating. If I have any problems, they are taken care of promptly. I really like living in this area and I love my apartment especially all the closet space. I just renewed my lease for another year. I love the location and that I am close to a lot of my favorite places. I have not had any issues with Management or living here. If I have had any concerns, they are taken care of immediately. I have not seen any cockroaches or bedbugs in my unit. And if you have cats, then you will have fleas. There is not any mold in these apartments. When I first moved in my apartment had been cleaned, twice actually. I love that I have 4 closets. The kitchens are small, but this is not a family building, so...it works for me. There are no hidden fees and Rei is very friendly and easy to work with. Since I have been here, there has only been one issue with the elevator and that was with the outside door on the 5th floor. So NO, IT DOES NOT BREAK DOWN EVERY OTHER WEEK. Additionally, more than one person can fit into the bathroom, and kitchen. If conditions are this bad for you, move. Not every place is right for every person. I recommend that you read your lease completely, ask questions and then decide if this place is for you. If you pay for parking and someone is in your spot, call Management and inform them. I have not had any issues with the laundry facility in the basement. Are the Normandy Apartments perfect? Of course not. But like I said, make sure it is right for you before you move in. I didn't have carpeting when I moved in, which was perfect for me. Not a fan of it. The maintenance staff is great and friendly. My ceiling fan was not operating correctly, I notified Rei and it was switched out the next day. So, please make sure you do your homework, ask questions, read your lease completely, then decide. For me I love it.
I just moved to Normandy a couple weeks ago and I've enjoyed every interaction with Rei, the new apartment manager. Rei always responds to my emails promptly and has addressed maintenance concerns quickly. Overall, the apartment building itself is obviously older, but my studio and the front entrance have been completely renovated/updated. Also, location-wise this apartment is ideal!
If I could give 0 stars I would. The location is what gets you, and the charm of the old building. But believe me, be warned. Read the reviews and listen to your gut. DO NOT RENT HERE! Or from Del Properties. They do not care about you, your apartment, the building, or anything but a rent check. There's a pest problem, as well as a lack of care and maintenance. The units are dated. Laundry on site never works, and eats your money. Parking is a joke, paying for a spot, but only being able to use it at certain times, and other times, its free game. It's ridiculous. Upon move out, don't look for your deposit back. "Carpet Cleaning - per lease", but when you moved in the carpet was cleaned by you! I am telling you, it's a joke!!!! Be warned, move somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle and the headaches. I was here for a year, and regret every single second of it. Do not get sucked in by the location, two shootings so near, and shady tenants, its just the absolute worst. Wish I would have listened to my gut and not moved here!
I have lived here for 2 months. The property manager is great, he worked with me on the application process, and has been helpful and lenient with me. This place offers a very good price in a very good location. They spray for bugs every month which is great I haven’t seen a bug yet. All in all I am happy with this property. All my neighbors are friendly the staff is helpful. The only down side is if you can’t parralel park you will need to purchase one of the limited parking spaces.
