Hands down the best guiding service i have ever used! I have used them for avalanche courses, ice climbing, and most recently went on an alpine 8 pitch climb in the enchantments. Every guide I have used has been super professional as well as showing extreme safety. I will definitely use them again!

I am an experienced gym climber that was looking for a first outdoor climbing experience. NMS was great! They created a custom trip so that I didn't waste time on things I already knew. Lyndsay, from the office, was thorough and prompt with all her communication from my first inquiry right through my trip. My guide provided good instruction in the areas I was looking to get experience (rappel, anchor building), he was positive and encouraging throughout the day, and provided a nice, soft belay. I will definitely be planning more trips with NMS!

We booked a day of climbing for a group of young adult (18-49) cancer survivors. We had a solid mix of newbies and experienced climbers and the guides, Madhu and Nick were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They explained techniques and the basics of climbing in easily understandable ways, while making the whole experience fun!
Our group had such a good time climbing, the guides graciously set up new routes for us and even conducted a repel. Everyone left the day feeling like they had challenged themselves, with a couple of newbies wanting to continue climbing back at home!
Communication leading up to the event was easy and reliable. Olivia is awesome and was prompt in answering all of my (many) questions! Thanks Olivia!
Highly recommend this outfitter!

Sharing my positive experience with Northwest Mountain School for the Mt Adams climb in July 2017. I live on the east coast so I planned this trip months in advance with the NMS office, renting most of their gear for the overnight trip.
We met Guide Craig & "guide in training" Wesley at the Trout Lake Ranger Station for the volcano pass. They were immediately friendly and diligent about reviewing and handing out gear, checking our provisions, etc. We drove to the South Climb parking area to begin the climb. We had good conversation throughout the trip and Craig & Wesley were really comfortable to talk with if I had questions or thoughts/concerns. My mountaineering knowledge continues to grow through discussions, observation and practice with such experienced guides. They demonstrated security for our safety and the conditions of the route. Craig guided us well on our technique, mapped out schedules and timelines for us to shoot for, and was a phenomenal cook at camp! He made sure we had fresh water (see picture of the "cow udder"). He minded our personal health and safety throughout the duration, helping us get to the summit and safely back down again, staying hydrated and fueled. We climbed to and slept at 9000 ft on day one, then continued to the summit on day 2. After returning to the "lunch counter" (aka camp), we packed up our things and hiked back down to the parking lot. It was a vigorous climb with great views and many friendly hikers along the way. Thank you and I hope to be climbing with you again!

We took a 3 day glacier course from NMS and it was an excellent experience. Communication and trip organization were top notch, and our guide (Craig) was knowledgeable, professional, and patient. Highly recommended!
