Do you love a bargain? Are you not too concerned about expiration dates? If so, you will love NPS! I'm a big fan, but it's the kind of place you will love or hate. Its the opposite of fancy, and you have to keep an eye on things as they are ringing them up, because the price is not always correct, especially on sale. That said, even at regular price it's dirt cheap.
A lot of the food here is past expiration date, but not all of it. Some things weren't big sellers (Pepsi Fire, ever here of it?) and some things look like restaurant overage (ginormous boxes of frozen onion rings in plain white boxes). And for the really adventurous, there's a clearance aisle. It's so cheap, it's practically dumpster diving! But you take your chances...could be fine, could be terrible. Sometimes I feel like gambling, sometimes I just stick to the tried and true.
I mainly talked about food, but there's a whole other section of other stuff, like clothes and household goods and office supplies. Across the street, there's a second NPS store with fabric and furniture and paint and stuff you would find in a garage. Its crazy!
So if you are not put off by the grunge factor, you might love it as much as I do.

Check engine light turned on on my way to work. Stopped to check oil, which was low but not terrible. Went in to buy some and top it off, barely got a hello, had to wait for the employee to get off the phone (granted work related) then asked about reading the engine light and was told they no longer do that. Which was an acceptable answer, but then employee goes on a rant about how someone ruined it for everyone else. Cool story dude... no one asked. Ranting to a customer isn't professional. Wasn't friendly, definitely didn't ask if I needed help. I wouldn't go back here. It would get you by but not great. Also, can only enter from north side on the main road. Don't be fooled about it being at an intersection and think you're able to turn in from the west... nope

I've been shopping here for years and unfortunately I don't enjoy shopping here like I used to. The prices are not as good as they used to be and the employees are rude. Rude enough for me to leave a basket of items and walk out. I used to spend over $100 on non grocery items a week. Now I only go once every couple of months. Lately I've regretted going when I do. Just getting checked out is a battle. I have to watch each item to make sure it rings up correctly, and heaven forbid I point it out to the cashier. I get attitude and all the reasons why the item doesn't quality for the sale. Not worth the hassle.

The store was extremely busy today, therefore the aisles were packed with people and carts. I wouldn't call it the cleanest store I've been in, but it's definitely not the dirtiest. Now for the pros: they have a great variety of food and non-food products available. Almost all of their products are way below standard retail pricing, hence I suggest checking the sell by dates. So in ending, I would suggest this store to my friends and family.

I love this place. Always friendly and helpful customer service. I drive about 30 miles away just to check out what they have. I am never disappointed. It's like shopping without a list.
