It would be really nice to know that these people are really here to help those in the community however they are not. I was taken to common ground against my will because I have severe depression that was having a very hard time all I wanted to do was stay home and be left alone but instead because of a lie someone told about me that was never substantiated in any way I was taken to this facility To be evaluated to see if I needed mental help Now I did need mental help but I needed help not someone to talk to me for 5 minutes today give me an a psychotics that caused me horrible side effects and not care about my emotions whatsoever If you do care about your loved ones keep them away from this facility and these people they will only hurt your loved ones more like I was hurt I will be forever traumatized from my experience with this facility and I hope to God someone can shut them down before they can hurt another human being the way they've hurt me there's nothing I can do of them be called crazy labeled whatever they want to put on a piece of paper from a doctor who never even evaluated me and then lock me away so I can't say anything against them. That sick do better
I don't know what the bad reviews are about. Common Ground was the only place that helped me figure out my medicine. Their urgent care staff are so so compassionate. I recommend common ground to many people.
If you are trying to admit to inpatient mental health by way of a standard hospital i.e. Royal Oak Beaumont, expect to wait, STUCK ON A CERT, at least 5 days before Common Ground gets around to your file. AND if Common Ground hasn't sent you to an institution by Friday evening, YOU ARE IN FOR A LONG WEEKEND. Well deserved 1 star.
Please avoid this facility at all costs. I was unwillingly transfered to Common Grounds from St. Josephs for suicidal ideations/plan to carry out and I still have nightmares about this place. The staff does not care at all and if you try to help the people you’re there with whom they’re neglecting, you will be scolded or yelled at. At one point i was physically holding a girl back from harming herself because the staff wasn’t doing anything and an old lady with a cane… presumably the lady who’s running things, yelled at me to which I just said “I’m trying to keep her from hurting herself” It’s not clean, you won’t be treated with any basic humanity. Seriously find somewhere else if you can
Disgusted with the way patients/clients are treated. Hippa laws being violated all over the place and I'm pretty sure I got bedbugs instead of sobriety out of this place. Would recommend this facility to nobody in need of help.
Very compassionate and kind staff. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with everyone I’ve spoken with here. Huge shout out to Renee and all other awesome staff that are on-call 24/7 for crises.
I love this place. I've been here twice. I reside in oakland county but my license is a Livingston county address and they still took me in. Group therapy 4 times a day, plus art therapy and great food cooked for you. You also see a psychiatrist three times a week and they'll give you an extension if your meds aren't right. I've been here for 10 days. I have met some amazing people that have similar issues to me. If you are struggling with your mental health or with substance abuse or both, come to common ground for help. These people genuinely care. Just have a little patience. You won't regret it.
In late April of 2019, as a 19 year old, I ended up going here after a stay at beaumont for a few days-a week. I got here and without waiting too long, I was sat down with a doctor, and then I was helped down to common ground where i got settled in. I was miserable and I’m not sure if his name is Paul, but I believe it is, he was wonderful. He was easy to talk to and overall just a wonderful guy, as well as others that work there. I had a room that was very clean and the bathroom was nice as well. Despite being monitored which I definitely needed even if I disliked it at times, that was the worst of it for me. I met wonderful people who were there getting help just like myself. I really enjoyed group therapy and overall, I must say sometimes I even miss being there. The food was good unless I got stuck with cheerios but of course that’s nothing, and overall, I just had a nice experience. If for any reason I was in a bad place again, I would head there immediately.
If you have a crisis do not go here. It's all about money. Money dictates what kind of service you get Absolutely Wrong. Wake up Common ground CHANGE it. Everyone deserves the same Quality Care No matter if you have money or good insurance.
Your health crisis will Not matter here if your residence is outside of Oakland county. It didn't mention on the website that they only assist in county and my county doesn't have such programs. Yet the social worker I spoke to, while desperately in search of help, was coldly dismissive and was not all compassionate bc my medicaid wasn't applicable here. Apparently not all nonprofits exist just to help those in need, some still only care about serving the affluent or those descended from it. I am thankful the 800 number was at least somewhat helpful and willing to speak with me for a moment. I called back after the terrible first encounter and a nice woman who actually cared shared some information to help me find assistance. She was much more human than the "social worker" I was originally routed to.
