Old Ursuline Convent Museum

This was probably one of the most interesting tours we did in New Orleans. It was cheap, even more so when compared to other tours, and the guide was extremely knowledgeable about the place and the history of the city and the state. This is definitely worth every penny you pay, and a must do. I recommend you do the convent before you do the cathedral, as you learn quite a bit about both when visiting the convent, making the visit to the cathedral even more interesting.

You would expect that the historic Ursuline Convent turned museum would be focused on what it was like to live in a convent right??? No. Instead it's a shrine to the St. Louis Cathedral. Seriously 5 of 6 rooms dedicated to the museum were dedicated to the history of the church. Not what I was thinking at all. Let down for sure.

What a beautiful place to have a celebration of the like of my wife's uncle. It was a gorgeous convent.

Beautiful garden and good venue for wedding. Historic location. Photo worthy.
