I love life at One City Block!!! Moved to Denver from out of town like many and the staff has been incredibly helpful getting settled in I'm a bit of a space case so a helpful staff goes a long way! Rooms are sturdy and I never hear my neighbors. Very nice and I think a great value for the price point!
One City Block has been on a quick decline. This could be a great place, but management has failed to uphold the safety and security of the residents. I understand living in the city you're typically at higher risk for crime, but property management should take measures to decrease the opportunity for criminal activity and make the tenants feel safe. In the past month my storage unit has been broken into 5 times with no forced entry into the building you need a fob to access these very secure doors and my car has been broken into in the garage. Management does absolutely nothing to address the fact these perpetrators have keys to our building! They simply will say "we'll check the cameras" nothing ever comes of them "checking the cameras" Or, hire a security guard to walk for another hour a day - which isn't helpful if these break-ins are occurring with KEYS TO THE BUILDING. All I ask is for them to re-set the fobs so we feel safe, and I do not have to continue to repair or replace my valuables. They will not make any effort to do so. Don't live here if you want to feel safe in your own home.
The Management Team is the best part of living here--along with the really great maintenance team. The common areas are always kept clean. The apartment above me dumped tens of gallons of water inane. Maintenance responded quickly, Management provided me accommodations, and made everything right.
I lived here for 6 years. This place was absolutely wonderful when Red Peak managed it. Then Greystar took over and that's when things went downhill. The hottub was broken for almost a year, all the rooftop patios were closed, and best of all that's when the break-ins started and we started finding tweakers roaming the garage and hallways On the way out they took $400 of my money on a weird technicality even though I didn't break my lease and left the apartment in immaculate shape. This was during 2020 when I needed it the most. I was too caught up in all the 2020 chaos then to fight it. This complex is everything that's wrong with Denver rentals nowadays. If you care about your safety, not having your car or home broken into, and not being treated like one of many by your apt management, you should avoid this place. Management: Don't @ me. We have nothing to talk about.
Terrible experience at One City Block. I was moved from my first unit at OCB due to construction. We were never told the reason, but the workers said it was mold related. The entire wall was exposed and water was spilling into my unit. The leasing office would not share what the issue was at the time and has still not shared that information with me. There are homeless people sleeping in the common areas all the time and even walking the hallways. At one point there were syringes in a stairwell that remained for multiple days despite being reported. My sister's car was stolen from the tunnel. At my new unit I was at ground level where someone tried breaking in through a window. I asked to break my lease my partner is 7 months pregnant due to safety concerns similar to the ones listed above. I was met with two very costly options and zero solutions given our financial concerns on the horizon. Oh, and make sure you don't rent a storage unit. They get broken into all the time. The leasing office has no idea who has fobs to the building and if you call the front desk looking for security it will redirect you to the wrong security company. Good luck and lock your doors.
Applied for a studio and paid a deposit. I had my sublet at my other apartment fall through so I withdrew my application in the time the required for me to get my deposit back at communicated by office staff. It’s been month and the office had not returned my deposit and have pushed me off telling me to callback multiple times. Now when I call the office doesn’t answer… I’m very disappointed and frustrated that there is no management to contact to resolve this!
My daughter had a one year lease at One City Block and was overcharged significantly for her monthly gas utility bill because of a broken meter. We were promised a refund on the charges and we have called and emailed One City Block multiple times and they will not return our calls or send us a check for the refund. We have spoken to Haley in the past and she promised that this would get resolved quickly. This is a very unprofessional approach to this matter and I would not recommend this apartment complex.
I really enjoy this community. From yappy hour with my pup to just getting a friendly hello from the team when I'm on my walks with my dog. I feel at home here. The supervisor Hayley is very nice and has always helped me with any questions or concerns.
Terrible leasing agents/front office. Lived here for 14 months and had heaps of issues. The pool is full of people getting absolutely trashed and passing around bottles every weekend, even saw dogs swimming around on a Saturday afternoon. Leasing agents are incredibly petty and not very professional. They made moving out as difficult as humanly possible. Somehow had to pay $300 in pro-rated utilities for the last two weeks of living there and somehow they managed to take my entire security deposit and charge me and extra $30 two months later. I also am 90% they stole my tri fold mirror I left in my bathroom. I remember the leasing agents making a comment when I first received this mirror about how it would be something they wish they had. I forgot it in the bathroom on move out day and called in the following morning and they claim they found nothing and if they did find something of value they would hold onto it. I never received any notice or call back. Oh and my rent went up 30% in one year. Would not recommend, Uptown has so many newer, nicer better managed places to live.
Erin, Hayley and the team do such a great job with OCB! They make you feel extremely welcome and do everything they can to make sure any problems get resolved! I lived there for 3 great years and really didn't have any major gripes. The rent was always cheaper than neighboring properties and the location absolutely cannot be beat. It's such a nice bonus to have the free parking, the bike rooms and the amazon room. Not to mention the hot tub for relaxing. - Ryan S.
