Orient Chinese Restaurant

The Orient has gone downhill in the past few years. The sweet and sour chicken is just covered in coating and I need to peel it off to get to the chicken. Most of the other food is just too greasy. The Orient was good when I first moved to town, but it's living in its own legacy.

This restaurant, the Orient, is not only the best Chinese restaurant in Salem County, NJ, but I have traveled the world and I would dare to say it is the best Chinese restaurant in the world. And I have been to Chinatowns in Philadelphia and Los Angeles and been in every restaurant and really, the Orient is the best food for the prices. We always get what we want, cooked the way we want it, with a beautiful presentation and very attentive service. Also, they do take out food too. They are in an out of the way location but it is worth the drive to come here. If you want Peking Duck, you must order 1-2 days ahead of time. Just give them a call. I really love this restaurant.

This is the. best. Chinese. I've tried most in South Jersey, many in Different parts of Philly, and the orient remains the best so far. They make everything fresh, no reheated batches made the day before. All the ingredients are fresh. I always get the gen tso chicken or shrimp, both have a thin crispy breading in a sauce. You can tell them house spicy you want everything. Their prices are very good. They re good for an eat in dinner and great for take out. Very nice people.

The food was amazing, the BEST chinese food we have had since moving to Salem county. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Prices aren't bad, especially not for the quality of the food. Looking forward to our next visit. My Fiance said it was the best General Tso's Chicken he had ever had. I had the Pepper Steak and LOVED it. Tried some of the Sweet and Sour Chicken, is the first time I have ever liked this dish. Isn't the closest Chinese restaurant to our home but is definitely worth the drive.

Fresh made too order home style Chinese. The Orients food has a delicious New York Style flair. I have been a faithfull customer for over 25 years and never disappointed. The byob option also makes it a good value for large and small parties. 😊
