Pancake Pantry

Before we explain the 1-star rating let me say that we've gone to the Pancake Pantry for the past 40+ years and enjoyed their food. However, on this visit several things brought this experience "up" to a 1-star rating. Here's a summary: 1) Over 20 minutes of waiting without ANY service at our table. Finally we went to the counter and asked for a waitress. Although someone came to our table to tell us that a waitress would be over soon, another 5-10 minutes passed before we received services. 2) We requested our bread to be lightly toasted (as we've done for many years at this restaurant without any problems). When our food arrived we immediately noticed that the bread had not been toasted at all. We discussed this with a waitress and she was confused because she had specifically told the cooks our request. Shortly thereafter someone came to your table with some toasted bread to see if it meet our approval. That's the 1-star we can give them on this visit. 3) Upon checking out I asked if we could receive any discount for our inconvenience. The teller asked if we had pointed it out to anyone and we reminded her that we had come to the counter earlier to get a waitress. Her only response was that she could not give a discount but I could go to the back of the restaurant to speak with a manager. Somehow I don't believe the customer should be required to search for a manager but rather one should have been brought to the check-out counter to see what our issue was. Bottom line - good food, poor service, worse management!

I will definitely not be back. My wife and I went first thing in the morning and while they had only three tables and a full wait staff couldn't figure out who was supposed to take our order. I might add, a couple that came in after us received immediate service. It literally took 15 minutes for us to get someone to come ask us if we would like a drink. On top of that, I ordered food they told me I couldn't have which was clearly on the menu. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. We found while we were there Sawyer's farmhouse offered the same food and was actually a lot better. I highly recommend them. On top of that, after breakfast Sawyer's gave us a coupon for a free 1/4 slab of fudge. Pancake pantry will absolutely not get any more of my business nor will I refer anyone there.

I have been going to the pancake pantry for 34 years. I was really disappointed this visit. The staff at the front was very rude. I witnessed The manager chew out the hostess because they seated our party of 7 at 2 tables across from each other because my infant was asleep in the stroller and not big enough to sit in a high chair and the table was the only table with room for the stroller. My daughters and I didn't get our food until my husband and sons were almost done with their food. The burger was tasteless, no seasoning at all. The bathrooms were a disaster. The only highlight was our waitress was very kind.I usually love the pancake pantry but it has definitely gone downhill. It's way too expensive to waste that much money. I'll definitely be finding a new place to eat.

This place is awesome! Good food, great service and fair prices. Quick, clean and big, I mean this place probably sits 200, so you never have to wait (not long anyway). Best breakfast I've had in a while, and I'm a vegetarian! But be sure everyone else in my family are not, and they could attest to how excellent all the dishes are. 'Nough said.

I had breakfast here pretty much everyday. Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere, Very fast. Nice variety of pancakes and crêpes, all were perfectly cooked and delicious. The only issue I had was they wouldn't let me substitute items. I wanted to get a single crêpe instead of the three pancakes that came with my meal...no can do. Oh! CASH ONLY. They only accept CASH, no big deal they have an ATM inside but it charges $3.00 to use. There is a sign on the door. My typical breakfast was around $14.00 plus tip, fair price. Overall great place!!
