I just had a fried potato salad roll. It was too oily for my taste, the potatoe tastwd just like a potato, nothing special with the mixture. I've been here a couple timws, but the bread offerings never really change or have enough of variety.
I got the yakisoba with pork and green tea au pain. The yakisoba was street level food at street food prices. The au pain was quite disappointing -- the texture was crusty, like it had been sitting there for a bit. Maybe it's just how it's stored in the displays? I would come back for cheap eats. Maybe I just had the wrong expectations this first time.
They have tasty curries and a large selection of Japanese baked goods. Their onigiri is not worth the money, but I would definitely come and have their affordable meals
My literal go to place whenever I come to NY, Javier and the staff here are so welcoming and the food here is just so delicious! I highly recommend the Japanese pork cutlet curry and the spicy curry pan if you get a chance to come here. There’s so many food options here and the quality of food and customer service is just great!
I’ve been many Japanese style cafes and bakeries and this place is the every first place I’m disappointed and assuming if it’s own by a Japanese person. The bake goods that I ordered look good but didn’t taste good as much as it looked and was very dry. Specially the greens tea an pan, the bread is too think and makes it dry that I can eat with out a drink. It’s dryer than a bagel. I hope they do a better job keeping there bake goods fresh or better technic to make them.
The place is small but quaint and comfortable in nature. They had fresh pastries lined up on display, fresh bread and a variety of cold drinks. I ordered food here which was made from scratch and tasted delicious although at some points I felt it was a bit too salty for me. I also bought some muffins which were sold at a cheaper price for being a day old and a custard cookie. Once I warmed them up they were also really tasty. I will definitely be coming back when I get the chance.
I have been buying Pan-ya's breads from Mitsuwa for years, so I was pretty excited to find that they have a little bakery/restaurant near St. Mark's place. I got a tonkatsu donburi and it was delicious, and the bacon bread, cheese baguette, and double chocolate cookies are all perfect.
Wow, I LOVED the strawberry shortcake and it reminded me of the ones I had in Japan! Highly recommend this place just for that cake. The seating is limited and crowded, so be aware. Prices are a little expensive for me personally just because these are considered cheap Japanese food, but hey it’s NYC. No wifi btw, so it’s just a yummy place that’s best for to go.
The staff are nice, the place is Lowkey and the prices are awesome! I had a chai, wasn’t so great and I had a cookie bun which was amazing. If you’re around the village and need a nice spot to sit and chat with good coffee and pastries, I’d take this place over most others in the area any day.
Friendly staff tasty danishes Got the blueberry one It was crunchy but it didnt fall apart filling had hints of lemon juice and cinnamon Blueberries were fresh and were not mushy I can easily eat 3 and not feel guilty bout it ----------------------------- The Salmon Bento 10$ boxes should be called Rice Bento because theyre 80% rice. Would I come here again when im tired of mexican food and this is close and convenient from where I work? Well.. yes lol
