Parallax

Since I have been long acquainted with Cleveland's "food scene", there aren't many restaurants that I haven't had the chance to review. I was extremely excited to critique Parallax but in all honesty, left disappointed. Ordered one of the weekly specials which consisted of grouper cheek, tapenade, green beans infused with fruit essences. The fish was largely undercooked and I caught myself reflexively gagging on my food due to the taste accompanied. Utterly horrible! Seafood freshness and excellence of preparation should be stressed by ALL restaurants. I haven't encountered such an issue during the entire history of my dining experiences. I was honestly shocked for such an issue to have occurred here, especially given that Parallax is located in an otherwise trendy and foodie friendly district in Cleveland. Aside from the poor food preparation displayed during the night I dined here, the interior is modern and comfortable, the drink list featured a generous selection & decent service accompanied these qualities. However, as previously stated, for what was paid; my meal never should have arrived undercooked.

Yum yum yum. Great sushi and menu and cocktails. Friendly wait staff. Good place for a (slightly expensive but fancy) lunch meeting, cocktail evening, or date night. Seafood always well prepared.

Just went here for the first time during lunch hour & loved the atmosphere, food, service, and the prices are very affordable. Squid salad beats any other place I've had before! Hot sake on a chilly afternoon hit the spot! The bread was a little on the hard side but I THINK it's supposed to be like that? Overall, good experience.

Very good food. Miso cod was outstanding. Server's recommendation was great, 4 Graces Pinot. Wednesday is half price wine on most of the wine which made things that much better. Very good service.

Super friendly staff. Decent food; not great but also not average. However, they have this back area where they seated us in the middle of December (30* F). This back area has no business being open in the winter. 4 out of 7 people just kept complaining about how cold it was and how we should move to a new location. 1ended up getting sick a day later from being cold.
