I was there 2 times and each time was a wonderful experience. Everyone was very patient and understanding. The therapy sessions were helpful. Was I happy about being there NO but the therapists were very patient.
After about 5 days I was able to settle in. I spent 3 weeks there both times that I was there. Some of the employees were even a patient at one point and could relate to your feelings. I especially liked the dog therapy.
I would recommend this hospital.

I had to stay here for 8 days and was really happy with the level of care I received. It was open, clean, and safe. There was a ton of support, and always someone I could talk to if need be, 24/7. Lots of group and individual therapy. It's not what you see in the movies and on tv. 3 hot meals and two snacks a day, friendly staff, and a safe place to get your mental health in order.

Been there twice, inpatient and partial. Both were full of inexperienced staff, dirty/unkept rooms, and unpassionate people who did not sympathize with emotional problems.
My Gf was inpatient there as well and was continuously ridiculed and bullied by rude staff and other patients.
Visiting is also unfair and the age bar for visiting should be lowered a few years.

PPI brings much needed behavioral health services to residents of Central Pennsylvania through a joint program of the region's largest healthcare organizations: UPMC Pinnacle (formerly PinnacleHealth) and Penn State Health System (parent of M.S. Hershey Medical Center). It provides psychiatric, psychological, substance use (including medication assisted therapy), and adolescent intervention services on an inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient basis.

I am reading a lot of positive and negative reviews. All, I know is with the epidemic that is mental health, and the lack of resources for treating ones dealing with mental health, as myself. It is hard to think, that an inpatient clinic, will solve all problems. They give you the tools, and get your medications in order, it is then up to you, to continue to take them. I do however, think, patients should be given more time, to be inpatient. Because, it takes years for people like me to get to that point of needing Psych help. So, me be told I am ready to leave after a week, to a week and a half. Is not long enough. I feel, patient's need more time, to get the medicine to a more theraputic level. Also, then see once they hit, their correct dose, then decide after observation of the patient. If discharge is smart. But, to blame PPI on someone taking their own life. Is not correct nor fair. Because, the mental health field, is thrown a lot and to think that they need to fix everything is un-realistic. It is a place, to get stable.
