My wife and I spent a wonderful night here. It a beautiful hotel and great room. The restaurant is nice. The pool is very nice and the views are amazing. It is a wonderful place to stay after the drive down the river. We will visit again.

Stayed here for a work conference a Wednesday night through Friday morning. The check-in was smooth. The room was clean and as described. The food at the restaurant was good. I only ate one lunch, one breakfast and one appetizer there. Service was fine. The bartender in the wine room was friendly and helpful. I used the walking trails and enjoyed the visit.

The lodge is a beautiful old CCC-era building though guest rooms are comfortable and modern. We are in the old section. We stayed for three nights - beginning Tuesday evening.
The main lobby is the highlight of the lodge! Beautiful with vaulted ceilings, a soaring fireplace that remains lit, windows spanning a great view of the sunset and river. TU and WE evening were spent lounging in this great room, making the stay fantastic... until tonight.
I am currently sitting in the lobby and am surrounded - quite literally - by 40 standing and marching people who are being orchestrated by a VERY loud wedding planner. The entrance to the restaurant is blocked, the fireplace is blocked... This is LOUD, disruptive and completely ruins the experience of the lodge stay.
**IF** one is going to do a wedding rehearsal - rent the entire bloody common area and don't impose it on every other guest.
And it was going so well...

Roomy and nice, however our room was located adjacent to the loading dock. They had a group conference that evening, and additionally, the facility experienced a power outage, lasting well through the night into the next morning. At 130 AM, the catering company lit up flood lights and used diesels and hydraulic lifts to load up their stock, noisily awakening us. The desk clerk said it was raccoons. Don't accept room 227, but better still go elsewhere!

The location and rooms at the lodge were excellent: I loved how close to the river it was, how accessible the hiking trails were, and the neat area in and around Grafton. Some important drawbacks about the place though, and this is why it earns it's 4 star rating instead of 5: the food in the restaurant of the lodge was terrible. I'm pretty sure the food came from GFS 3 months ago. Breakfast was mediocre, but dinner was no good. Go to Grafton for dinner, there's some cool places there that serve good food. The second thing is - and this doesn't bother me so it isn't factored into the 4 star rating, that's only for the food - that the wifi was slow, but also that there is slim to no cell service (on Verizon at least). Overall, a great location and great rooms, but eat somewhere else.
