After seeing Pete’s Hamburger Stand on PBS Wisconsin foodie we just had to go. Owners and staff were very friendly. The food was very good and I will definitely go back. The onions and burgers were cooked to perfection. Thank you for a great experience.

At first I didn't get it. Just plain patties cooked next to a mountain of onions in a water bath. Now I get it. You don't have to be fancy to be delicious. Take your burgers one block west to the Sawmill bar (they let you carry-in) and get a gin and tonic. The perfect summer combo.

I appreciate the history and charm of this place, however, the burger was completely disappointing. It's essentially boiled meat covered in boiled onions. If I had gotten this burger in a restaurant, I wouldn't have eaten it. But after waiting in line for 45 minutes in the rain, watching the locals order 10-15 of these things at a time, it seemed like something I had to try. I'm not sure what all of the hype is about. No flavor , no seasoning, and not worth the wait.

Excellent old time burgers! Only open Friday-Sunday from about Memorial Day weekend ----October. Expect up to a 20 minute wait. They cook burgers fresh in large batches, no they don't sit around waiting to be bought, they sell fast! Fresh baked buns. Served with or without caramelized onions, salt, pepper, ketchup, brown or yellow mustard. NO CHEESE. Excellent burger!
