This place is our go-to for everything we need to weld and fab at Porter Iron Works. You’ll see us there all the time picking up supplies.
Great customer service, the best independent welding supply company by far.
After driving to their location to have my torch tanks filled, I drove back to my garage to find out they charged me for an empty tank. I loaded up the tank and took it back. It's an honest mistake, I understand. However, they didnt offer an apology for the inconvenience of driving 20 minutes in each direction. The guy behind the counter only laughed when I asked for some kind of discount on a $16 gauge I bought. After going to them for over 10 years I am no longer giving them any of my business. To laugh after inconveniencing your customer is not something I'll tolerate.
They have the best selection of welding supplies in the valley. Todd was very helpful. I highly recommend this business.
Needed shielding gas on a Saturday. I was in and out quickly, price was good, and everyone was extremely friendly! Thank you!
Everything you need for welding and them some
Called 2 days after dropping off co² tank, found they had lost the tag. Asked if they could fill it and let it sit as I needed to check it for leaks. Showed up 4+ hours later, they had forgotten to fill it.
Showed up at 330 and they were all locked up looked closed no one home. Wonder how they sell anything when it looked abandoned
We are setting up a new manufacturing shop, we needed a welder. I stopped by Phoenix Welding and met Doug. Doug showed me some other options than what I went in for and saved me a considerable amount of money. I will be taking my welding business to Phoenix Welding from now on.
I called a few months ago and asked if they did a 60% co2 and 40% nitro mix and at the time they were very eager in my business and said that they did. I was told since they don't normally do this mix that I would have to buy the tanks. Sure, no problem! How much? It cost me approximately $550 for both tanks filled. I asked how much it would cost to get the mix refilled and they said $36 plus tax. So if my math is correct the tanks cost me about $235 each. Today I needed another tank filled with that same mix and was told that they will no longer do it because its too much of a hassle to mix that blend. Okay fine! Can I return the tanks that I bought from you a couple of months ago? The guy starts stuttering "Uhhhh Duhhhh Uhhhhh why would you want to do that?" Ummmm because you will no longer fill up that mix soooooo I'm going to another company that will fill up that mix or just buy myself a blender. The guy says " well why don't you use those tanks to get the refilled with another company". Why should I? What if they require their own tanks or don't require me to buy the tank outright like you did? What if I decide to go with a blender? I already have extra tanks that they wouldn't take when I first asked. I got a bit loud and said "are you going to refund my money on the tank or not??" He says "yeaaa but we are only going to give you $40 for the tank!!" Really??? Their loss! I refer customers their way weekly with co2 fills but never again.
