Well lit, decent selection, reasonably priced.
My problem with Pioneer began and ended with the deli department. The first time I tried to order some kind of cranberry chicken salad, the kid behind the counter said they were closed. It was only 9 PM, but whatever. As I am walking back I see he is waiting on another gentleman, so I figure there was a mistake and get back in line. Nope nope nope. Once it's my turn, "I told you we were closed." Fine, you don't want the money that keeps your store open and gives you a job, I'll complain to the manager and spend it somewhere else cause I'm a cranky old man.
Maybe two months later, I'm trying it again like a fool. This time it's apparently OK for me to ask for a half pound of cheddar cheese and some meatballs, but mid-conversation it becomes much more important to talk to a fellow employee about their sandwich. Then about their chips. Then about their bottled water. Two minutes later I wander away, wondering why it is so hard to give this place my money.
And the people at the register have an unrelenting air of sadness. Please say something nice to them if you see them.

Since the grand opening of this location I have never encountered a rude or disrespectful employee until today. I asked the manager on duty Rufino, as I was told his name, a price for an item. once I was ready to pay the item it was more than the price the Manager Rufino told me. I then asked him and he said it was his mistake. I told him that he gave me that price and he should honor it. He said he could not because it's not the price of the item. I said to him that when a price is given to a customer, the price should be honored. That is when Scarlet the Secretary, as I was told her name, rudely got involved to say: that is the price and we will not give you the price the Manager Rufino said because that is not the price. I then try to explain to her as she walked away that when an employee gives out a price it should be honored. As Scarlet the Secretary walked away she said we are not giving you that price and keep walking away and finally said WHATEVER. As a regular customer or any customer, this behavior and customer service is completely unacceptable. What really bother me was the attitude rather than the mistake of the price given to me. Their many different ways this incident could've been addressed. Disappointing experience. I hope the General manager PEDRO, as I was told is his name, has the opportunity to address this matter.

Love shopping here. The prices arent too bad compared to some supermarkets other and the staff is polite.

While I cannot think of this place without thinking about how much I miss the 24 hour Pathmark, it's a good store. It is chock full of a decent mix of groceries. Sometimes this is a problem because the staff are tending to stocking and pricing items as people are trying to shop in the store. It has not happened too frequently, but it's clear they would benefit greatly from a larger space. Prices are OK, but they are not always the lowest price for things. The most frustrating thing about this location is that they are not in the local circular distribution though two or three Pioneers that are further away are. I didn't realize this at first until I looked at the details on the circulars I receive weekly. But I can get around this by going to the website and selecting the store circular online.

This store stocks all your grocery requirements. Great beer selection.
