Very nice atmosphere and the horses are happy. The pens are spacious, and open so the horses can see the daily activities. The owner, Teri, has a successful show team that's always in the ribbons, and when the kids aren't showing, Teri is always thinking up fun things to do with the kids & horses like a trip to Fiesta Island to swim, holiday parades, overnight sleepovers at the barn. The riding arenas have extremely good drainage, which means less down time after a rain. It's a fun place to be, and the horses are comfortable and relaxed. I would/and have recommended it to many. :)

I love this barn. I started riding here about 9 months ago, after finding their Mira Costa class.. this was the perfect way to get back into riding after a long hiatus... enjoyed it so much I started taking weekly lessons. I then decided to move my then 6 year old daughter here so we could ride together. We have been having so much fun here and both of us have progressed immensely. This is the one barn I have found where kids are truly playing and enjoying the barn life, exactly the experience I wanted for them. The ponies are safe and Teri teaches excellent lessons, she is an extremely knowledgeable horse women and it shows.. you can tell she loves what she does. We love our time at this barn and find ourselves there, with the whole family at times, twice a week or so! This is a great barn, great instruction and wonderful, happy horses. I did see a recent review claiming animal neglect... I can assure anyone that goes to this barn that is not the case, that's a silly claim and assumption. ... the horses and ponies are so well cared for. I am a registered veterinary technician and have not seen any signs of neglect in my time at the barn. I also see the farrier out there quite often taking care of all the hoofs!
If you want a drama free, fun place to ride, and a great coach, ride here!

I am giving Pony Express Riding School 5 stars. They are a warm and friendly facility that welcomes riders in a family oriented "no drama" environment. It is an English show facility that has well known local and national high caliber riders who are taught by Teri Cagle. Western lessons are also available. Pony Express Riding has a casual comfortable rural feeling with trees, wildlife, with a stream running through it, yet access is close on Mission Rd. 1 mile from Highway 76. I would highly recommend Pony Express Riding School.

Beautiful drama free facility. One if the top jumper barns in San Diego County Horses are well taken care of and great care is taken in developing each and every single riders skills. Highly recommend touring this barn.

At first I thought this place was alright. Some people were nice, some people were stuck up and had inflated egos. Whatever...it's a show barn what do you expect; Everyone to be a decent human being? Righhhtttttt. What gives this place a 1 star is the hate and unprofessional atmosphere I observed. Not only does this place neglect the well being of its animals, direct hate and animosity towards selected people, I am pretty sure it is violating county or environmental laws by having a large pile of horse manure sitting right next to a running stream. I'm not aware of the zoning laws in the area, however the position and location of the pile warranted concern. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place unless you enjoy the high school drama atmosphere or want to see how you shouldn't run a buisness.
