Silver Stirrup Riding Academy

My daughters & I have been taking lessons at Silver Stirrup since July, 2017. We absolutely love the program. Liza is an amazing instructor and incredibly knowledgeable about horses and horsemanship. She’s assisted by an equally amazing team - Caroline is another wonderful instructor, and Samantha does a great job organizing the program and scheduling. Liza has also assembled a great team of helpers and everyone is friendly, professional, and cares so much about what they do. Liza’s program emphasizes safety, understanding and reading horse body language, working with the horse as a team, and above all, the best riding instruction I have ever come across. I highly recommend this program, which is rounded out by a team of wonderful horses - shout out to Romeo, Tizzy, Shorty, & Aramis - a few of our faves!

Best Riding Academy in Southern California! My daughter (now 8) started taking lessons 2 years ago with Silver Stirrup. She has not only grown as a rider but as a person. She is confident and courageous. But safety is ALWAYS #1! They have taught her not just how to ride, but horsemanship, anatomy, horse care, and so on. She impresses senior riders whenever we go with her knowledge and speaks like a rider much older than her years. They take time every lesson to work on “book smarts” before the lessons. She takes written as well as practical exams. It is the most thorough program I have seen. In fact, after riding for 25 years, I started taking lessons because watching her go through the program, I saw how many holes in my knowledge and skills that I had! Finally the team is awesome. Everyone is gracious and kind. There are no big egos or snobby attitudes. Everyone is approachable and sweet as can be. Yes they may take a day or two to get back to you, but the reason is they are so busy (because they are so good) and they are focused on you (or your child) at all times, not looking at their phones. Safety first, and riders first. So you know you and or your child will receive 100% of their attention and focus. I can’t recommend Silver Stirrup Academy enough. If you want to be the best rider you can be, go there. It is worth every penny.

My daughter and I have been coming to Silver Stirrup Riding Academy for a little over a year now, and are thrilled with their program! I've been through other riding programs and trainers over the years, but nowhere have I found a program that is as comprehensive as this one in providing the rider a strong foundation in horsemanship. Most programs provide the basics in the saddle, but Silver Stirrup has thoughtfully put together written material for the students to also study as they progress in their riding skills, levels 1 thru 4. This combination of written material and hands-on skills makes this program really stand out from the rest. If you or your children are considering learning more about horsemanship, I highly recommend you check out Silver Stirrup!

The owner is very passionate about what she does. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about her students. She not only teaches riding but teaches overall care of horses and safety. I would highly recommend taking riding lessons from this company. The horses they use are also very safe so they are great for kids.

I love SSRA! this is the absolute best place for lessons! The instructors are so nice! My absolute favorite part is that the lessons are two horse long! when you arrive you learn about the horse. Then you get your horse, groom, tack up, and ride! Aramis, Diva, and Shorty r my faves! 1000% recommend for riding of all ages!
