The worst I have ever experienced. I'm using their service only temporary until my surgeries are complete and back on my feet. As a person who has worked since 16 years old, payed taxes, Medicaid/Medicare, you would think I can have assistance for the duration of my recovery (about 10 months) with no problem. It's going on three months since I reapplied and still no one can give me a reasonable answer. Their attitudes are worst than ever, the only one who speaks and treat you with dignity is the female security officer who sits in the lobby (wears the white shirt/uniform). I hate going to that place and will be so glad when I won't need their services anymore.

They treat you as if you are not human. The staff was very rude to me i didn’t get the help i needed. I need housing they sent me all over the place to dead ends. They denied my food stamps because i can’t work and could not attempt the work shop. They messed up my SSI now waiting on a hearing due to negligence of my documents. They are short staffed and very unprofessional
Not very good social workers at all

I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I have seen tremendous improvement to the DSS at the Temple Hills Location since my last visits on January 19, 2018 and January 29, 2018. #1. The first thing I noticed was no desk for the guard they are where the check in attendants used to be, Makes more sense to have them show my identification there.#2. I noticed the handicapped chairs, even though persons who are not handicapped will sit there. #3. The check in line was different and moved faster. However, my experience did not start off well. My first visit for my re-determination was a 2 hr wait; which I didn't understand because the last time I came to visit DSS I did not have to wait that long. I later learned that the front desk attendent gave me a P on my ticket number. When I came for my Re-Det. this year the desk attendant did not give me a ticket # beginning with P; hence why I ended up waiting longer. #4. What I appreciated is the Case Worker servicing me noticed I was disabled and asked me why the attendant in the front did not give me a ticket with the letter P. I told her I did not know but I would remember next time I ever had to visit. During my interview with her, I was missing a document and had to come back. She instructed me to let the person at the front desk counter know that I was coming for a drop off and that my wait should not take long. #5. Again, I told the front desk person why I was there. She gave me a ticket number with the Letter S. I waited for about 20 minutes. The person servicing the S clients in the back asked me why did they send me back there when they could have just scanned my document. I told her I did not know. What I appreciated from the person servicing window #5 is the extra mile on her part. She told me to have a seat and went to the counter for #1 & she addressed them at front desk and told me to go to counter for number 2 and addressed the situation. She then came back to me and told me to go to counter #2 where the person scanned my document and I was done. I appreciated the excellent customer service from the case workers who serviced me. Cudo's to them and the guards covering the desk now. They are on point. I see the improvements. Keep up the efforts! It is making a difference. Last but not least I received a call back! Never since my experience's with DSS would I ever receive a call back. I received a letter saying I did not come in for my interview. I did come in. I called the 800#. I was told how long my wait would be (60 minutes) or I could leave a call back number. I left my callback number AND I RECEIVED MY CALLBACK BEFORE THE 60 MINUTES. i WAS SHOCKED. THE MATTER WAS TAKEN CARE OF AND I DID NOT HAVE TO COME BACK TO THE OFFICE. OUTSTANDING!

Came to get some help, had to reapply because they botched my re-determination process.I go in, im going through the process and in the middle of it I get talked about and teased by two ladies who were staff! Im disabled, I know Im odd, strange but ffs act professional. This place needs a complete overhaul, staff and service. Although the security guard is always nice and a few staff persons were helpful.
YOU PICKED A JOB THAT REQUIRES YOU TO HELP PEOPLE AND CARE FOR OTHERS IN NEED. WHERE IS YOUR KINDNESS AND RESPECT FOR THOSE YOU ARE SERVING? Not even mad I got talked about, thats nothing new. I just think about the piss poor job they're doing and all the others theyre screwing over.
I left without completing the process, rather take my chances and struggle. Something needs to be done about this immediately.

Worst place ever ! Went there to complain about them losing my paper work, and was talked down to and treated like a undesirable second class citizen. Those people are very unprofessional.
