In a day and age where false advertising has become disgustingly a universal standard globally I was refreshed with a sense of hope for humanity utilizing Prisms online services today. The most important part of my experience was actually being able to get through the entire process without being interrupted by bots #1 killer, without being redirected or harassed into submission for commercial purposes and their response time was almost immediate. All issues addressed and orders are made within minutes!!! Literally minutes all from the comfort and safety of my home. Thanks to Prisms Optical of Alaska if I could go 25 I would in a heartbeat i don't recall any encounter in person being uncomfortable as well #gohere
I can't say enough bad things about my experience. I was given then unreasonable time frame to receive my glasses in 4 - 6 weeks. After 8 weeks, it was confirmed work on my glasses hadn't even started. What they said was ASAP was another week. I got them after 13 weeks. They didn't fit.
Over two months ago I visited Prism where they told me they'd take my insurance and send it off. Both people were very friendly and the optometrist was profesional and answered all my questions. I paid them $657 for their service eye exam and new glasses on the spot. Since then I've called them multiple times inquiring if my insurance info was ever sent. The first few times I was simply told they'd look into it and call back, they never returned my call. Then after I called a fourth time, I was told they happen to send it that very day. Three weeks later and my insurance still hasn't recieved any information, so I call again. They feign ignorance and say they'll send it "one more time" and that was yesterday 5/31. I'm not holding my breath. Despite the good experience with the optometrist, I won't be going back to Prism.
I have ordered two pairs of glasses through Prism Optical with great success. I have not seen the optometrists here so I cannot speak for the exams; I have been seeing a different optometrist for 10 years. The reception staff have been helpful and warm. My orders were simple exchanges of information and the glasses selection for medicaid were great.
Was a fast and great experience. After paperwork we were able to look at a huge selection of medicaid glasses 300+, then into the room with Doc for very thorough exam. Employees and Doctor were friendly and courteous from start to finish! Great experience, would definitely recommend!
I have a loved one who is in prison who just purchased 2 new pair of eyeglasses through Prism Optical. Due to the communication and information barriers created by incarceration, I made contact with the company to help get answers for him regarding the ordering process and also made contact to check on the progress of the order. We were both absolutely blown away by the exceptional customer service and prompt responses each time I reached out with questions. Carlos is the contact person that I spoke with each time I reached out and he was amazing to work with. Keep up the great work and thank you!
My son and I attended a Prism clinic in Haines and I was less than impressed. While the visit was more convenient than flying to Anchorage or Haines, the price and service after appointment was subpar. Due to the company not being a preferred provider with our insurance company, we paid for out of pocket and were told that Prism would submit the charges to our insurance company and we would receive the appropriate reimbursement within 2-3 weeks. It cost close to $950 for two eye appointments in a local hotel bar, and one pair of glasses. This is an extremely high price- I’ve never paid more than $150 for an eye appointment without insurance. After the appointment ended, I was told the glasses should be in within about 2 weeks. I asked for a receipt and was told that their printer was not working and they would email the receipt in a couple of days. After two days and no receipt, I called the Anchorage office to have a copy of the receipt emailed and to get the pupil distance measurements for my son so that I could order his sport goggles, since the measurements were not on his prescription. I was told that the report had not been submitted and that she would email the measurements and receipt by the end of the day, or by the following Monday, at the latest. Monday came but a receipt and measurements did not. I emailed the office, again requesting the PD measurements and receipt and received no reply. I assume the charges have yet to be submitted to our insurance company and my son’s glasses have yet to be ordered as well. Next time our family needs eye care, we will fly to town- it would cost just as much for two plane tickets, a hotel and meals, eye appointments, and glasses as the appointments and glasses through Prism did.
The last place I went here were so disorganized. They ordered the wrong glasses, etc, so after a month of mishaps when I finally got them, they didn't even work. On top of that, they told me I was in early stages of cataract which was total BS. This place was efficient, they never insisted on an invasive Covid test or a mask. They got me the right RX & blew them away & I'm so grateful they're here!
Prism optical is simply way over priced for their glasses. My insurance paid 400 dollars and they wanted 263 more for a total 623 dollars for what are essentially reading glasses. Also, there's a least a 6 week for your glasses. I used to be a repeat costumer but not anymore. Their outrageously bad service and high prices have driven me away.
Dr. Pedigo was severely overbooked, and he was very rushed through my visit. He neglected to even mention an eye condition I have, and my prescription is painful for my eyes. His staff on site was very rude, and when I called and left a message, they just never called me back. I wasted a lot of money here!
