Puppingham Palace

We took our dog to Puppingham Palace for 3 half days of doggy day care. After this, we noticed he developed a hacking cough so bad he would throw up. We took him immediately to the vet and he was diagnosed with kennel cough even though he had been vaccinated against it. The vet stated he was going to call Puppingham Palace later in the day to inform them of the matter. I called Puppingham about 9 am and asked to speak to the manager and whoever answered the phone identified herself as the manager. When I told her the situation her attitude was very flippant and she said it was no big deal, happens all the time. Well no big deal cost us $108.03 in vet bills and there are probably other dogs that are going to have kennel cough out of their facility because they would rather make money than to carefully watch dogs who may be showing signs of being sick. That’s how much they care for animals and my dog will not be going back. I will tell anyone who asks what type of place and lack of concern they have for pets.

I bring both my dogs here and the one is a ten year old dog and she’s not as sociable as most dogs and the staff loves on her in daycare so I know she’s in good hands. I love the camera factor and the fact that they have gates to get into the facility after you enter the building. My 1 year old dog loves the fact that during the summer he has a pool to play in and shaded areas to cool off. I always receive pictures from the staff of him playing with toys and on the new playground that they just got. They gave me a tour of the place before I even brought my dog here to play. Doggie daycare is by far my favorite for my kiddos. When I leave them here I know my dogs are getting all medications when they needthem and I’m so happy that they get a potty break even at night. Love the fact that someone is there from 9 pm-2am and that every dog has to pass a temperament test so I know my dog isn’t in there with any aggressive dogs.

We took her dog to puppingham palace to stay this summer. I loved that they had videos we could watch her on. It was nice that she was with other dogs socializing.Every time we saw the video, we saw her trying to interact with the human in the room but the person never did engage. I understand with so many dogs that might be hard but it was a little sad to see for ours. The grooming was not the best our dog has had. She came back very very short. Even in the past when she was sometimes tangled, other groomers have not had to take her as short as they did. On the plus side, we didn’t have to get her groomed for quite some time after the cut! Last, we were a little disappointed as they made us come up for a evaluation to make sure she fit with other dogs before boarding her. This was hard to squeeze in for us but I understood the need and I made it work. Unfortunately I had a scheduling issue picking up a child from camp and was slightly late when I got back. They charged me for being late. I paid it but I would have waved it if it were my business since it was for an evaluation they required and I was going to be spending so much money for a weeks worth of boarding and grooming with them. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I likely won’t be using them again.

Had been going here for about a year and a half for day care. Picked my dog up from a half day of daycare and he had a big hole in his side! When I asked what happened, I was told he came in like that. I was told the wound didn’t happen there, and no one saw anything. I finally asked for the owner to call me and I left. I talked with the owner on two separate occasions. At first she denied the injury took place at her facility, stating no one saw anything and she is not responsible. I called once more and again received the same song and dance about no one saw anything. Then she said she can’t pay vet bills when things happen and that I signed a waiver when I first brought him there. I told her I expect small scratches and bumps to happen when dogs play together but nothing like this hole in his side! I told her the staff is clearly not watching the dogs. My dog was there for four hours and no one saw anything? Really?! The vet told me it was a bite wound. He also said a reputable daycare would take full responsibility AND pay for the vet bills, and if they do not do this to not return (which I don’t plan to do anyway). After the vet cleaned up the wound and cut away the dead tissue so he could staple and close the skin, my dog is left with a HUGE scar that is still trying to mend. Multiple staples and medical glue, a cone, a depressed dog, and a $500 vet bill. That’s what you’ll get from Puppingham Palace!!!

Great staff!! You can tell they really care about the dogs. Clean and we'll cared for.
