Ramen Kids Won

The ramen and udon were good. The broth and toppings were delicious and the service was super fast. It’s not the best ramen I’ve ever had but we would definitely eat here again. Idk what the other person was talking about, these are definitely not instant noodles.

For a ramen newbie, this is probably a good start, it touches everything. For a ramen lover, this place does not satisfy you in many aspects: instant noodles, very thin broth, and limited veggie. However, it’s pork belly is great. Sometimes, I still go to this place for its belly.

We moved to the Madison area from the Seattle, WA area on the west coast and I have been craving a good ramen since we got here nearly three years ago. I've tried the others and while they were ok they didn't quite seem to satisfy my ramen craving. They just weren't quite up to par with all the good ramen where I'm from. And then today we braved graduation at UW parking down town and walked a ways with two small kids in tow to Ramen Kid. It is a small hole in the wall style place. I was getting a good feeling about it between the smell and the old school movie posters on the wall about Astro Boy and Bruce Campbell in Army of Darkness. Our food came out quickly after ordering and I dug in. It was familiar, it was delicious, it was real ramen like what I would have out west. I slurped every last noodle and drank every last bit of broth. This is it. This is "the" ramen place. It is the only ramen I'll have in the Madison area now.

Vegetarian review (comments only about the tofu shio and miso ramen).The staff are nice and service is good. When it first opened I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. The tofu was delicious and the ramen was amazing. However...as time went on I noticed that the vegetarian ramen was changing. It is now very very bland, they give you less tofu and the vegetables are not as good. I noticed the tofu is not cooked the same (instead of crispy breading it now has almost no breading? Is it just thrown on top? It's nasty). Please go back to being good (are you trying to be cheap? are you having money troubles? is that why the ramen got so bad?)....

Pretty good ramen. I would definitely eat there again.
