Good location. Lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Expensive area. Kitchen is useful. Some front office staff members do not display the quality that marriott promotes. I got inconsistent answers. They said they treat guests who book using points differently. Hotel room was good. No bed bugs. Pool wasn't available for use.
It’s the first time in my life I faced this at Marriott. I didn't enjoy my stay the room was not clean and the bed was old and noisy. I have a book from September 28th - October 2nd; I ask them to do something. First, they told me they wanted to change the room, and the front office agent asked me to come down to get the key. He refused to come to my room and bring the second key. I was so tired after driving for 10 hours. I sleep on the sofa. In the morning, I go down and ask you to give me a key to check the different rooms the agent give me, and I decide to eat my breakfast first. I'm shocked all the bread old and have mold on it. Here I decided to check out, I was not happy, and I talked with an agent Lopez. She is friendly and under standard; while I was talking with her and explaining my situation, one African American lady jumped in the middle of the conversation and told me, hey, you are rude. If you have issues talked with Marriot, I told her I don't speak with you why you do that she pulled her middle finger in my face, I'm shocked, and I called l the police to come over and check me out because I don't feel comfortable dealing with her. This is not acceptable in the hospitality industry
Large rooms and location are working for this hotel. The staff is also friendly and helpful. A way to improve would be to provide a few updates to the amenities.Rooms: 4/5
Disappointing for a Marriot. We always stay in Marriots and have never had a bad experience. Until now. In our first room there was a weird musty smell and the TV, microwave, and kitchen light didn't work. The lady at the front desk was very unhelpful and just told us "it should work" without offering any solutions. Luckily a guy named AB overheard and offered to change our room, to which I am appreciative. New room was fine, but just fine, not great. Update: I thought we were past all the initial problems, but my room key has suddenly stopped working. Seriously. Downgrading another star for the amount of times I've had to go down to the front desk. Currently this property's only saving grace is the convenient location. I think all the rooms need renovations, adding a smart TV with streaming services like other Marriots would be a great start. Some of the staff with no customer service training need to be replaced too.
Excellent location, but as others have mentioned the rooms need a bit of an update. I don’t really care about the tv, and everything else was serviceable… except for the bed. It was terribly uncomfortable. I’ve slept on better beds in motels. For almost $200 for the night I stayed, this did not match that price point. I should have stayed at literally any other Marriott in the area, and since I travel here quite a bit that is exactly what I will do next time.
Been here for about 10 days now, still waiting on hot water, the hotel has had little to no hot water during stay several guests have complained that I have overheard but every one including myself has only been told to let the water run which has done nothing willing to give the hotel a few more days to correct the issue whichvif it isn't then will check out find a new hotel request a partial refund and or file a complaint with the City of Houston and the Better Business Bureau. Other than the hot water issue place is somewhat reasonable good location and good breakfast, the issue of no hot water for 2 weeks now is inexcusable.
I have been staying here for a long time and have been here on multiple occasions. Though the property is quiet old, it has got a good location hence the reason to stay. On this latest visit, I had a terrible experience. The front desk/receptionistBrittany does not know how to talk to customers or lacks basic customer service which I feel the management should look into immediately, if they do not want to loose business in future. She has a very bad attitude for no reason. Our office account manager had booked the stay and paid all upfront. He had even confirmed with the manager Heather. When I reach the hotel late evening, the receptionist tells me she has nothing on her system that says so. I then tried to show her the email on my phone but she said she will not look at that email, I asked her what's the reason for not looking at the email - she again said with her attitude she won't see that email. She also did not have access to the system, that's what she said. I don't understand why are they having the staff with no access if they are supposed to work there, how can they help the customers or resolve issues, if they have no access to the system/machine/computer. I finally used my card to book for the night. Next day when I went to the front desk - the person there came out with the payment details that my office had already done. It's pretty strange how one person can't find the details and other was able to do it. Whoever is heading this place, they really need to train their staff quite well or if they are too adamant and do not care about getting business then good luck to them. People will find out better places to stay here.
Apparently anyone can come in and park their old unregistered truck across 2 Elite reserved parking spaces and 'there is nothing they can do'. There are only about 4 spots near the elevator on each side. So of the few perks that you are SUPPOSED to get, you actually don't even get at this property. The TV's are old, no access to Netflix or any other streaming app, and the bed squeaks. I have been here for a while and please believe when my reservation is complete I will not return or recommend to my coworkers.
