River City Casino & Hotel

Go there to eat not to gamble. Good food buffet line moves quickly. The workers attitudes are hit are miss. The slot machines are truly one arm bandits. Go to amaristar or Hollywood if you want to gamble. I'm not saying that you will win there either however the chances are better.

The whole place has a mildew smell. I'm not a big casino guy anyway and I wouldn't give any of them a high score. There is a great steak house here though. If you like machines this is a good place but it was almost impossible to find an open blackjack table. We saw a band play in the velvet lounge and it was...entertaining. lol

The Italian restaurant is the BEST anywhere around town. Absolutely delicious food and coffees! The burger joint is very good too. Their Angus burgers are crave worthy. The casino buffet is lacking.

As far as appearance River City is the most attractive casino in st. Louis. Since I only play video poker and craps I don't go there unless my brother or wife drag me there. The reason is is does not matter where in st. Louis you play craps the rules are identical no matter where you play. However as far as video poker is concerned RC has the worst pay tables in st. Louis for video poker if you play quarters. So I play video poker mostly at other casinos. Sadly most video players and casino personnel have no idea why I am critical because they do not understand the importance of the pay tables. Why would you play at RC with that pays 6 for a full house when Hollywood pays 8 for a full house on quarters. Fortunately for casinos most gamblers have no idea what they are doing.

Great place to spend some time, gambling would be the main reason would come but there is places with great food. The hotel is great to stay in. They also have live entertainment.
