Rockwood Music Hall

Best small music venue in the city - which is actually 3 venues in one. "Stage 1" is a great place to walk by, pop in and see music (no entry fee with donations to musicians encouraged. "Stage 2" is a larger stage and capacity room and often gets some of the most talented musicians in town or on tour playing there. Downstairs is "Stage 3" and has a very intimate vibe. You can catch Michael Daves bluegrass jams there every 1st Monday of the month.

Best music venue in Manhattan! It contains 3 stages, usually 2 are free of charge. Great performances, all music types, great sound and light. Usually it's a standing show. You can order drinks and enjoy a great show! I highly recommend this place!

Went for two shows in the last month and Rockwood Music Hall does not disappoint. The first show was a friend's band, Hide and Seek, on stage 1. It was a great show with attentive bar service (even though it was packed) and excellent sound. After that show I went to Stage 0 nextdoor door and had drinks with the band. Same great service from the bartender named Tanner there. My second show this past Wednesday was for Leah James on Stage 2... another amazing show and the same excellent service and sound as the last visit. I'll be back!

If it weren't for the excellent staff my review would be rated lower. Pros : excellent sound, lihhting, ambience and a listening venue. They take it seriously and do a great job....which is surprising to me....the Cons. Acts are rushed up to stage with no real time to set up. It's in and out, like an assembly line....so of course the performances can suffer.

Great place for live music! The staff (managers, servers, bartenders, security) is always friendly and helpful. The bathrooms aren't wheelchair- accessible but it's a wonderful place to hang out with friends.
