Roxalana Hills Apartments

I stayed at Roxalana Hills apartment for three months. Management was amazing and so helpful! Anytime there was an “issue” we would contact them and they would respond right away. Issues as in unable to work WiFi when we first moved in, light not working properly.. easy fixes. They were very friendly & respectful. They held gatherings & free work outs for their tenets, so much fun! If I ever go back to WV for work, I hope it’s in the summer, because I would go back to these apartments and utilize the pool and sand b-ball court!

Pros: -Close to the highway. -Responsive maintenance team. Cons: -Very poor construction. You can literally hear everything that happens in your neighbor’s apartment (even below you if you’re on a top floor). -Not much going on in the surrounding area. Shopping and entertainment options almost non-existent.

Do not get an apartment with new carpet. Any damage no matter how little will cost you all of your security deposits and extra fees will be charged depending on how many "years" they decide you have shaved off its life. Maintenance was excellent and timely, which is the only reason this review gets 2 stars. Lots of students live in these apartments and smoke heavy amounts of weed to which the landlords throw air fresheners out into the hallway as if they do much. Apartments are overpriced and small. Moving furniture into apartments not on the bottom floor is tricky and tedious with multiple doors to open and tightly angled staircases. Complex has a small gym with few pieces of equipment that are also aged and constantly get jammed or break - jug in water cooler is changed once a week if you're lucky. Car wash is sad and tenants frequently park in the car wash area. Bottom line...much of this place is aged and far overpriced and we would NOT live there again if they paid us. You can literally pay less monthly for a house that is twice as big as their biggest apartments.

This is a great place to live! Nice, clean, quiet and safe! Everyone here is wonderful, from other residents, to the office staff, maintenance crew, housekeeping. Any concerns I've had, maintenance issues or otherwise, have been addressed timely. I can't say enough about the availability of activities and other things to do here...or, if you want to keep to yourself, nobody bothers you! You will however, get a smiling face and a "hello" should you encounter someone outside!

Absolutely awesome apartments, and incredible staff. Moved to West Virginia in 2015 after retiring from the U.S. Navy. Prior to arriving to WV I quickly had to find a place to live as I was relocating from Norfolk, VA. After conducting some research I finalized my decision to a few locations. What drew me to Roxalana Hills Apartments was the professionalism of the staff. The day I moved here was on President’s Day in 2015. It was a horrible snow storm that particular day. The office staff waited in the office for me to arrive, and finalize the rental paperwork. That made me feel special and wanted. There has never been a time that I’ve contacted the front office, or maintenance, and my needs/concerns were not taken care of in an expeditious manner. My neighbors are nice, social and respectful. Furthermore, there’s a physical fitness room, racquet ball/tennis/ basketball courts and a pool. I highly recommend Roxalana Hills Apartment.
