Whoever is stating that the RCDS falsifies records and takes the dentists' sides is grossly misinformed..talk to dentists that have come up against the college and you will hear a much different story..as a dentist that has seen some of my colleagues up against the college in NO WAY are they on the dentist side..in fact they go out of their way to make sure that patients are not wronged! You are totally wrong and misinformed it is actually laughable! Starkman

I'm Pursuing a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT vs RCDSO Complaints I lodged vs 2 Ottawa Dentistry Practitioners, were handled by the RCDSO in a GROSSLY FRAUDULENT Prolonged COMRADELY SHAM! The RCDSO Panel ACTUALLY FALSIFIED EVIDENCE and covered up multiple counts of FRAUD! PS: My RCDSO Cases + Dentistry Ethics Expertise are now viewable in exponential detail at my Premium LinkedIn Profile

A completely CORRUPT and CROOKED organization, tilted entirely in favour of the shady, uneducated dentists that absolutely butcher their patients and get away with it. I filed a complaint with the RDSCO a year and a half ago, and finally just received a notification that the board had finally come to a decision about the case filed. Their answer? "The dentist's work was poor, but oh well. It was a hard tooth to work on and he told you it you'd probably need more work on in in the future. Lets ignore the shoddy work done, and all of the issues that created though, it was a tough job for the dentist. Sucks to be you." They are NOT there for the patients, they are NOT there to defend you. They are there to make you think you have even a chance of defending yourself when someone does you wrong.

Dr. John Augimeri of Midland Ontario refused to follow through and complete my dental treatment after assessment related to racism toward First Nations. He doesn't deserve a star but I could not post without it.

FOR THE INTERESTS OF THE PUBLIC: The RCDSO is run by lawyers; not by qualified investigators who can accurately ascertain whether or not a dentist has wronged a patient. Since when did a lawyer investigate a crime scene? Also, since when does an insurance carrier who does the pay outs for these legal claims against the dentists (PLP) operate in the SAME BUILDING as those who determine the reprimands to the complaints? This is a complete mockery to dental patients in Ontario. Keep in mind though, YOU CAN ALSO STILL SUE these dentists, THEIR STAFF, and/or their clinics, regardless of the decisions made by the College. Your records are your best recourse. If the Dentist does not document things, those things will be to your advantage, if the dentist attempts to state that they advised you of the risks or attempt to lie to the College. The Dentist I complained about lied many times. Don't get disheartened if they lie, even though it seems disgusting that any medical professional would do such a thing. Just keep carrying on with your complaint and push forward to justice. Also, both a friend and I experienced dentists writing fraudulent records. Don't be disheartened if you see this. One day must come when the RCDSO will operate with qualified investigators who you can trust will thoroughly investigate your complaint, similar to an investigator investigating a crime. Regarding the process: The RCDSO will call you at the beginning of the investigation, so that you will feel comfortable speaking with them. Then, the RCDSO investigator will document each and every one of their conversations you have with them over the phone. These notes are not necessarily in the patients' favour because they are not entirely accurate, or at least not in my case, yet they are all DISCLOSED TO THE PANEL of decision makers, which are also used to make a decision. The RCDSO documents these notes WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. The Privacy Commissioner for the RCDSO is Mr. Fefergrad (the registrar) himself. He too is a lawyer. There are no privacy laws which have jurisdiction over the RCDSO. One day must come when the RCDSO will not breach your privacy by documenting your conversations with them and manipulate the words into whichever way does not serve you as a patient well all WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. Your assigned investigator is a 'lawyer'. You will see LLB written beside their name in the letters you receive from them. This lawyer (aka investigator) DOES NOT PERFORM an investigation of the dental practitioner. Their role is to obtain your treatment records, x-rays, and such other documentation from the dental practitioner of you. It is in your best interest, as a patient, to obtain all treatment records and x-rays from the dental practitioner yourself prior to writing your complaint, so you will know what the dentist and their staff has put in their records about you. You may be able to use that as leverage if and/or when the dentist lies about you to the RCDSO. Please be weary of this. The dentist's lies about me as a patient were atrocious and obnoxious. Don't give up on your complaint whatever you do. The College may someday be FORCED to change their ways. Also, though the dental practitioner has 30 days to respond to your complaint, you, as a patient, will only have 15 days to respond back to them. This however is not on their website. Instead, their website states that the dentist has 30 days to respond and you will have an opportunity to respond to their response. The dentist is generally voluntarily offered an extension. You can request one too, though you may or may not receive it. HPARB is a conflict of interest. One of their members praises the RCDSO for their transparency process. I encourage anyone to commence a class action lawsuit against the College. More information to follow in several months time online to assist patients who have been injured.
