Russian Cultural Center located in the heart of Houston museum district and definitely looks bigger from the inside, where the real authentic Russian art is. Fine photography, oil paintings, sculpture, mixed-media, every time something different and exciting. Our every visit is highly interesting and educating. Art prices are affordable.
The Russian Cultural Center is a great place that brings gives the Houston community a wonderful opportunity to get a glimpse of the extensive Russian culture. Art exhibitions, musical performances, and many other presentations show how diverse and interesting Russia and the former Soviet states can be.
We had the good fortune to work with the team at the OurTexas Russian organization during last year's Turkish festival that was held downtown Houston. They were very energized, helpful and had some super ideas. Their participation included a full display of the beautiful Russian culture and entertained the participants with some very talented dancers. They have a wonderful office building with many beautiful artifacts. We hope we can collaborate with them in the near future. Visit them if you ever get a chance.
Great place to visit! Not just some Russian popular traditional things like Matreshka nesting dolls etc, but unique photo and art exhibitions, concerts of modern singers / songwriters, tango classes etc. Every time I am in Houston I try to stop by there to see what is new and what is on walls. Like it a lot! And they do have some cool graffiti outside of the building worse taking picture with.
I would recommend without a doubt wonderful Russian Cultural Center. Very good place get together for local Russian speaking community. They have organized so many concerts, events, art exhibitions, festivals and many other good things for Russian community in Houston. Absolutely love this place, the atmospher and all ideas.
We've visited the centre on and off for almost ten years and have always really enjoyed it. They have interesting art exhibitions - we once bought a piece which we still treasure - and other fun events, like today's Father Frost Fair, a Christmas fair with some fun items and homemade crafts for sale. Everyone is always very friendly and most events are free. It's only small so don't expect to spend hours at an exhibition but it's always worth dropping by when you're in the area.
I have had a great experience with the Russian Cultural Center and the Russian language class. I am now starting my 4th year of Russian language class at the Russian Cultural Center . The classes are very small and intimate for individual attention. The instructor is a native Russian very disciplined in the correct grammar of the Russian language. Also, there are interesting and enjoyable activities sponsored by the Russian Cultural Center such as the always changing art exhibits and festivals.
Always the not-to-be-missed art exhibitions, movie festivals, classical piano concerts - it's all happening at Russian Cultural Center. A perfectly coordinated tango and yoga classes and much more. Come to visit - you wont be disappointed!
Perfectly located in a quaint building in the museum district, Russian Cultural Center "Our Texas" is exactly when it claims to be, a perfect oasis of culture and learning, featuring art exhibitions, movie showings, classical music concerts, Russian lessons, tango and yoga classes, and so much more. It's a perfect spot to drop in for a bit of fun and culture during the week and on the weekends.
