Always a great experience here. Our whole family does a trip together every summer and each year gets better! Looking forward to the trip we have planned this August !

Jay was such a great help in finding the right equipment to meet my needs and at a better price than I was quoted from other retailers in the area

I would leave a "zero star" review if that was an available option due to HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff at Saco Bound is snarky, rude and misinformed; Despite a supervisors insistence that "we train everyone very well," I had to beg to differ. I spoke to four different Saco Bound employees, from the beginning to the end of my experience with this company. Each gave me different and conflicting answers to the same questions. The PUBLIC river was gorgeous and I enjoyed spending time tubing with my family nonetheless. I would recommend renting or purchasing a tube, canoe or kayak elsewhere. Then jump in and enjoy your day on the Saco for free! Simple. You certainly do not need this disappointing middle man called Saco Bound.

WE WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE NOW !!! Our family has been coming to Saco Bound for 8+ years renting at least 8 canoes each time. We always enjoy the river even though the service at Saco Bound has been getting worse. Starting with the lady behind the counter (I assume it was Sadie since this is the name on top of the receipt) our nightmare begins. We arrived on a Saturday at 10:30...not crowded...usually is crowded on a beautiful summer day. She was rude and uncooperative. I asked if I could return one canoe in our group reservation as we had an illness that kept someone back at the cabin. Immediately Sadie (?) treated me as if I was asking for a free canoe and someone to paddle it down the river for me. Shockingly condescending, she told me I would have to "eat the canoe" because they were sold out and I missed the cancellation deadline. NO care for our circumstances or the LOYALTY of our years at Saco Bound (or the fact that it was early enough in the day to resell the canoe to someone else! Oh right...THEY WERE'NT BUSY FOR SOME REASON...) The young man checking me in was equally stunned by her reaction. Only one other time did I ask to return a canoe and the gentleman (Bill, I think) was compassionate and accommodating. I politely asked to speak to a manager and she loudly responded that she was the manager and she wasn't going to do anything to help me. I left unsettled and vowed to forgive her so she wouldn't ruin my day. So ...the river was running low but we had a great time together ...until pick up at the pig farm. After waiting 45 minutes post pick-up time we called the shop number only to be told...they are on their way. At this point there were 38 people waiting to be picked up. Our boys pulled all the canoes out of the river and up the stairs to help out because the canoes that arrived before we did were blocking the raft. A nice gentleman who was out of the river before us reminded us that we pay good money to have the canoes brought up...but no, we always pitch in and the boys like the exercise. What arrives at pick up over an hour late...2 small vans and a couple of hard working young men. (They are the reason I can give the star! Probably should give 2 but the lady at the check-in was so awful...and the memory of her hasn't faded.) Coming back next weekend to try Saco Valley Canoe (stay tuned) because I can't stomach Saco Bound anymore...It's true...time to move on...I hope to spare you your dignity to avoid this one rude, rude lady who could single-handedly ruin the reputation of Saco Bound. Hope they wake up there and show her the door. I have sent too many families to Saco Bound and she is an embarrassment to me and my good referral reputation.

We arrived at the finish 2 hours early. They told us we couldnt be picked up until 1 hr after our originally proposed pick up time. Fortunately we had enough people in our party to transport the canoes back on our personal vehicles. Upon arrival to their facility there were SIX i repeat SIX employees sitting in the building not doing anything with ample vehicles available to come pick us up. They didnt even help us take their canoes off our vehicles after transporting them back (which was a large part of the fees we paid to rent to boats). If i could give this place ZERO stars i would.
