Terrapin Tours

This is my third tour with Terrapin Tours—two long and one one-day—all excellent! Kelly Cooke, who runs the tours, is superb. She is thoughtful of her passengers; is upbeat, fun, and knowledgeable; paces the excursions very well; chooses the best and most careful bus drivers; and I wish I could remember more kudos. On our Southern Coastal Discovery tour, Annie Vachon was her “sidekick .” Annie is totally fun! I’d do a tour with her, too, when she’s flying solo! If Terrapin has a venue you’re interested in—go for it! Great value, wonderful people.

My husband and I have just returned from our 5th tour with Terrapin Tours, and we are already signed up for 2 more! One word comes to mind when I think of Terrapin Tours and its owner, Kelly Cooke, and that word is TRUST. Based on past experience, we trust that the itinerary will be impeccably planned, with a balance of engaging activities and time to relax. We trust that the sunny attitude of the director, and the supportive attention paid to every participant, will bring everyone together in a friendly, unified group. We never thought we would like bus tours, but Terrapin has changed that. We trust--and know--that we can relax and never have to worry about plans, travel arrangements, or lodgings. The bus rides go quickly--much better than doing the driving ourselves!--and there are plenty of belly laughs along the way. We trust--and know--that our trip with Terrapin will always be a true vacation.

I had the privilege of traveling with Kelly last fall to the Mystic CT region. We all had such a great time. It was my first trip with Terrapin Tours and I was so impressed! Looking forward to seeing Nantucket in a few weeks. I returned home from CT and realized I had left my phone and all credit cards on the bus( yes not too swift on my part!) Kelly to the rescue---She had the phone and cards shipped overnight to me--now that's going the extra mile! Hope to enjoy many more future trips! Monique Shea

Our very first tour with Terrapin Tours was their Great Lakes Explorer tour. Terrapin Tours was recommended by a friend. We enjoyed the tour because of the pace and destinations of the daily itinerary. We always knew what was happening for the day and also what was planned for the upcoming days. As a first timer travelling with Terrapin Tours, we soon realized in just the first days that the travelers welcomed us and we got to know our neighbors in the bus . No name tags needed! Plenty of time for laughter, good food, and welcomed bonuses of sights and sounds that were built in to the tour as "surprises". We have enjoyed several tours over the years with other tour companies....and now in retirement we plan to join Terrapin Tours again this year. The only issue there we find is ALL of the Terrapin Tours have great itineraries--it is hard to choose which ones to join! We've been sending their info to all our friends to 'get on board' with Terrapin. So, YES, take a tour from Terrapin Tours--once you do, we feel you will be repeat travelers like us!

I have traveled for many years and find that Terrapin Tours is a great tour company. Kelly and her crew are always looking for something fresh and new, either in a new tour or a new activity. She's always concerned about making the tour special and memorable. She has my highest recommendation!
