Very good taste and nice atmosphere. The menu has plenty to choose from and the waiter was very nice. The food was served very quickly and just as we ordered. I like the positive vibe here. Plenty of clean spacious tables. No alchohol here??? Maybe you can byob. Located in the 808 center behind Walmart on the first floor.
The food was delicious. I loved the qr code ordering, it was simple and fast. The service was terrific as well. Will return.
I was the only customer in the restaurant. I seated myself and a server came over quickly to give me a menu/water and take my order, but after my dish came out, he did not come back to check on me. There was no music playing, only the sounds of the bored employees sitting at the table next to me together talking and ignoring my empty water glass and dissatisfaction. I seldom write reviews, good or bad, but I felt this experience worth noting. I ordered the vegetarian ramen...but it should have been called corn ramen. There was no description of the dish and other than broth/noodles, it was a few pieces of cabbage, half an egg, and a heaping pile of corn. I tipped 15% in cash and the server counted through the bills and glared at me as I exited with the leftovers I couldn't bring myself to later consume.
Unfortunately despite the good dish I ordered for lunch, the service and experience was less than desirable. I had gone in for lunch after seeing some very yummy pictures here on Yelp of their dishes that they offer only to find myself in a very uncomfortable environment. I first walked in and was the only one there. Since I saw no one working, I seated myself and waited for sometime before someone appeared from the back to barely greet me. It took awhile, but I got some water served to me and my order taken. However, before I even placed my order, I was bluntly told they were only excepting cash that day with no explanation. Not sure if they chose not to turn the AC to a normal level because no one else was there, but I sweated the whole time. Didn't make for a comfortable dinning experience since I had ordered hot and spicy soup. The aspect negative aside, I have to tell you that my dish that I ordered, MaoCai long rice noodle soup was incredible. Now this was a ramen restaurant that offers a couple of Chinese soups since I guess because the place is run by Chinese. This soup was filled with lots of goodies, full of flavor, generous in portion, and the perfect spice level for me to feel the burn of the chilis yet enjoy the broth. Based on the deliciousness of the soup alone, I would have given a 4, but because of the service and overall experience, I had to downgrade to a 3. Since the soup was so good, I might consider going back and giving them another try.
SUMMARY: service & food tasted kinda like 2 day leftovers reheated from your fridge Here's why: Went on a Tuesday night around 7 pm. Restaurant was completely empty with a couple tables uncleaned. By completely empty I mean not even workers. Me and my friend waited awkwardly to be seated in a weird should we stay or go limbo. Finally when we were acknowledged, it felt like we were being encouraged to do take out. We said no thank you and sat down because we wanted ramen. As we were given the menus our server smelt strongly like alcohol and cigarettes. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time, around 15 minutes. Then we never saw our server again.... at all. No water refills, nada. We talk and do our best just eat the food and go.... As we're eating and talking other people walk through, thought they were customers waiting for take out. One sits down at a corner table and starts watching videos in Chinese on his phone. Didn't really notice until the volume was on and we could hear it playing from across the restaurant. Not a big deal if it's loud to us. However we discover it's a different worker because as he sits there for a good 30 to 40 minutes on his phone he picks up the restaurant phone and answers it to get a phone order. We're done eating by now, it's time to get a check so we're waiting and waiting. I stand up go across the room to him and ask if I can have the check because when I say "Excuse me" from our table, twice in a empty room he was totally unfazed and didn't hear me. He stands up gives us our check, seemed irrated by my request, no smile, no sorry just a serious look. I walk back to the table get my credit card and walk it back to him because obviously he wasn't going to come and get it from our table. Tables were still dirty around us when we left, no goodbye or come again when we left. Legit took a hour an half to leave & it only took us like 30 minutes to eat.
Cute, CLEAN, with terrific value set meals. And a kid's menu that comes with a drink! Kid's size bowl of ramen measures 9 inches across and has kid favorites like corn, udon, etc. Or for the non-noodle lovers, there is corn rice or curry rice. Curry has a light fruit-based flavor, very pleasant and different from the Japanese curries you'll find around here. Gyoza is delicate, light, and I think house-made. Set of four comes free with set for $9.75. For that price, you get a mini Ramen, your choice of fried rice, chicken katsu curry rice, or chicken mochiko curry rice, and of course, the free gyoza. Terrific value! The mochiko chicken was super flavorful and very tender. Different from a lot of the mochiko chicken you'll find in ramen shops, it was so good we ordered a takeout bowl of it. Restrooms available. Clean, modern-Toyko ramen shop interior. Beautiful menus. Whomever shot those photos loves food. Katsu breading was very well done, the panko crust was light and flavorful and crunchy, and the chicken was not greasy at all. Park on-street. No parking except for valet in the lot. Or, if you're willing to roll the dice, there is a huge Walmart parking structure right across the street. You could easily park there and do a quick hop across the street. Not that we did that; just saying a person *could.* ; Very kid friendly. Open til 2 a.m.! Hooray for late-night after-movie/club/concert noshes! Accepts credit cards. Recommend and would return. Next time, I'll have to remember to take photos instead of just diving in!
Terrible Service, Food was bad. The broth tasted like it had soap. The gyoza wasn't cooked properly, looked as if it was just thrown on the plate, and just fell apart. The entire staff had no idea how to deal with customers and was just constantly texting with no regard.
This review is for customer service only. I placed an order online for food delivery, after waiting 90 mins, i called SAKURA RAMEN. I asked the lady if they had received my order and if they started to cook it? she says she don't know. I ask, if you didn't start to cook it can i cancel it? She says i don't know. can i talk to a manager? i don't know. Then she starts speaking mandarin. When i ask if anybody there speaks english, she hangs up the phone on me. Your customer service and phone etiquette sucks
Seafood ramen broth was good. Not a huge fan of its contents, but it was still pretty good. I want to go back to try the lobster ramen.
They have a lobster ramen that's a winner. Good size lobster tail too in a buttery broth for only 12.95
