The way these facilities are ran is absurd. Completely unprofessional reception. I got denied care because I have asthma- and they wouldn’t treat me even though I was NOT having any issues with my asthma/upper respiratory. I came in for short term refill that I HAD to be seen by a doctor. They heard me say asthma and comepketeky wrote me off. I am In between PCP, urgent care was the only option I had, and they argued & still denied me. Didn’t even take my name or try to get me in. The other location was closed and not accepting more patients that day, and they still referred me there. I have never had a smooth experience at this facility. I am in medical care myself, and the receptionists talk to people as if we are beneath them. Totally unprofessional.
While some employees are good, a good number are less than professional. Reception and nursing staff are particularly weak. The clinics post signs saying people need to appreciate those staff members who “bothered to show up”. How sad. Good people leave when bad people are allowed to stay.
Salem Clinic will make everything as difficult as possible for you. They can repeatedly email you statements through MyChart but cannot send you an itemized receipt via email. They deliver test results to MyChart with no follow-up or explanation. I have not waited less than an hour for an appointment in the last four/five years. They employ doctors with some of the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced; Dr. Halder called my mother "probably crazy" when I was attempting to explain a family history of illness, and Dr. Seibt advised that he'd have to get a "woman nurse" as he didn't know how to perform the test he'd just prescribed me. The family medicine and urgent care receptionists are really the only redeeming quality about this whole place, because they seem to understand themselves how asininely uncaring the doctors are. Overall, this place is just scary, every time I have to deal with them I thank god it's not life-threatening because I don't believe I'd have a good chance of making it through if anyone I'd seen here was in charge of my survival. They want your money, not your wellbeing.
Dr. Stoessl is absolutely incredible. He always explains things really well and never makes me feel like he’s rushing me out the door. He listens and is so quick to find solutions. I’m so grateful to have him as a doctor!
This is second time I’ve tried coming to Salem Clinic’s Immediate Care. Both times they kept me waiting for close to two hours. Then the doctor prescribed pain medication and said they would call it right in to the pharmacy. They didn’t do it either time until I got to the pharmacy and called the clinic to remind them to call it in. This last time they didn’t get it done until the next day. The pharmacist told me he gets complaints about Salem Clinic all the time. It will probably take a few lawsuits before they step up their game to any extent. Immediate Care apparently has nothing to do with ‘immediate.’
This is a good clinic except for one thing...dr stoessl....hes a horrible conveyer belt dr ..my kid went to see him and the dr belittled him...was snarky...my son was crying and terrified but the dr treated him like pure dirt...this dr has done the same thing to me and my husband years ago...we switched drs because of this treatment...today my son called me after his visit extremely upset and angry and still terrified...again clinic is a good place but this man is horrible
I’m so conflicted by my recent visit to Salem Clinic’s Urgent Care on Capitol St. My actual visit on a Friday evening was a great experience. I received the care that I needed and was ready to plan for my trip the following day across the country. There was just one last step to be completed, my prescription medication. I immediately left to the pharmacy to pick up the medication. I drove across town to get there, I purposefully picked this pharmacy because it was the one that stayed open the latest. The prescription medication never got there. I tried to reach them via phone, next to impossible. I had to change my trip in order to get the prescription the following day. I just don’t get it. The easiest step theoretically seem to be their hardest. Learn from my experience, ALWAYS get a hard copy of the prescription drug. ALWAYS. otherwise you may regret it. I would like to thank the front urgent care staff on Saturday for their redeeming qualities as they helped me after allowing me to vent and ultimately we’re the ones who got me a hard copy of the prescription. Thank you ladies. For everyone else, please stay healthy when possible to save money and sadly in this country, headaches.
So sad they let a group of good doctors go this past summer. Now you can't get an appointment with another doctor. Administration told me to find another clinic. Not okay. Thanks for continuity of care, not!
I had the most wonderful doctor for a long time here, Dr. V. Her replacement, who is now my primary, has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced with a doctor. She is making all of the decisions and your care and comfort do not matter. This has not just been my experience with her, my family members have experienced the same. I like Salem clinic but cannot wait to find a new primary doctor. I miss Dr. V., she was an excellent doctor and kind person, never condescending. Some doctors could take a lesson from her. This has not only been my experience with the new doctor.
The fact I haven't been to their clinic or urgent care in over 2 years because I moved out of state and come back and cannot be seen because I missed one too many appointments is ridiculous I just got off the phone with the business part of it and I can't even go to the urgent Care side unless I want to be a part of their clinic and they're not accepting patients right now and so instead of going to an urgent care for a poofy eye I've had for three days I have to go waste the hospital's time and waste my time around really sick people for something so simple and now I can't go to any Salem clinic location because they won't accept me because I missed one too many appointments 2 years ago no wonder their doctors quit this clinic is horrible it's been 2 years all I did was Miss one too many appointments and I'm not trying to have a doctor at your office I just need access to the urgent Care you guys are ridiculous absolutely ridiculous.
