This is the most disgraceful lending company. DO NOT TAKE ANY LOANS OUT FROM THEM!! LIARS, CROOKS, AND IGNORANT CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS. They hire the most useless agents because they do not care about your loan or personal experience. They lie about loans with rising interest rates; they approve loans fully aware that borrowers can't repay them. They do not help with lowering interest rates. They do not care about your education; they are a money-hungry, pathetic company. The BBB should be looking into this company. This company is worth NEGATIVE STARS!!!!

Only giving them one star cause you can't give them no stars. If you want to alter your auto debit it's going to take months to cancel a debit plan, and months to start a new one. If you ask questions customer service is snotty or unhelpful. Everything about this business just feels like a scam. I can barely log into their website, and getting them to take my money is a struggle unless it's already late.

This is not a great company, if you have the choice I would recommend aidvantage. Sallie maes website/account access is misleading when it comes to your account balances, and account management is sub par. In my case they charged the wrong account costing me overdraft fees and would not correct it. Their customer service via phone is probably on par with the IRS, which is about as bad as it gets. Over the phone, in person or on the website they really have zero interest in helping solve problems other than "would you like to make a payment". Their online chat is also often "unavailable". I would avoid this company if possible.

Somehow this bank was able to access my credit report without any notice or permission and I received an alert stating that there was an inquiry affecting my score. This is identity theft and fraudulent. Beware! When I contacted Sallie Mae Bank, they wanted all personal information including Social Security Number just so I could obtain a letter for Transunion to remove the inquiry. Why would someone trust them with this information after they already stole it and used it for fraud.

Customer service is a joke. I have tried to get ahold of them regarding my application the last two times and were transferred about 4-6 times each call. My loan was denied per an error on my credit report. I got a copy of my credit reports as well as my existing student loan showing the error. All I was told is that there is nothing they can do they cannot review or override my application. Having a college education would be life changing for not only myself but for my family. It’s heart breaking knowing that I was stopped in my tracks for an error that I cannot control and no one can surpass it.

customer service is rude and unknowledgable. My parents work in this field, so I am always kind and understanding of people in this industry. But the representatives told me blatanly incorrect statements about my loans, such as telling me there is no floor to my interest rate turns out its 1.125%, and that there is no benchmark my interest rate is tied to obviously lie. I escalated and found out they use 1 month LIBOR. The representatives did not even know what interest rate benchmarks such as LIBOR, SOFR, Fed Funds, etcetera were, which is pretty important when you are selling variable interest rate loans. Also they should know that other countries have negative rates, which could happen in the US too. When I ask if rates go negative, they should not be acting as if my question is stupid.

My identity was stolen and a hard credit inquiry has been in my credit for months without this company taking care of what they allowed to happen without my consent, they just said that they wouldn't allow the criminal to proceed with the loan, but they should also remove that inquiry from my credit and they didn't. I will report them to the BBB.

I was informed that this Sallie Mae bank is giving loans in Papua New Gunea, but was not accessed for loan when tried, not knowing why??

Predatory loan company that has done nothing to help borrowers during the covid-19 pandemic. Avoid this company and save yourself the trouble. You'll be better in the long run
