Sandy Spring Bank Olney Community Office

Went to open a bank account. Was talked down to the whole time. Very snobbish financial staff (white). Turned down every paperwork we brought to disqualify us from opening an account. It was like they did not want our kind there (Asian).... Drove to the branch where I first talked to the manager at the bank in aspen hill (Layhill and Bel Pre). Opened checking and savings with the same paperwork we brought. He apologized for the behavior of the staff in Olney.... SMH. And I live in Olney.... Good thing I will only be dealing with staff at the window.... They need to keep up with the changing demands of diverse customer base in this area....

very inconvienient bank. Difficult to do business. Not a friendly user bank.

After losing all the good employees and throwing us out of the bank who needs some small time business like sandy spring. Some of our money was put into the wrong account and when "we" discovered the error not sandy Spring they returned the funds to the right account and shortly after without reason or notification someone had the audacity to remove our money from our account. As if we owed them for their error. When we threatened them with an attorney we were told to close our accounts and "leave the bank".

I would not recommend this bank or affiliates for any reason. They may have programs that seem to be a good deal for mortgages but the lack of communication, strange policies regarding appraisals, and miscalculations were unacceptable in the process. Do yourself a huge favor shop around and you will notice the difference.

My lifelong bank. Sandy Spring always goes out of its way for me. You don't get personal treatment like this from the other big Banks
