I really liked the clean cut Scandinavian feeling of this lounge. The food offered, especially the wraps & sandwiches were really fresh and delicious and their oatmeal cookies really yummy! Friendly service and comfy relaxed atmosphere!
Very nice and clean lounge. Food selection could perhaps have been a little better. The hot meal of the day was mac'n'cheese which the kids loved. We arrived early for our flight to Copenhagen so got some good seats. I saw others later that couldn't find a place to sit because the lounge was near full capacity. So get there early.
The atmosphere in the Newark SAS Lounge creates the feeling of “going home” . Over the years I’ve been there so many times that I lost counting, in my 24 years I have seen a few renovations/ upgrades so the lounge still feels “new” Food service has gotten less ambitious over the years but what is served has good quality. Historically Wi-Fi has been a weak spot but nowadays it works flawlessly. However - be aware even though the lounge is big it is absolutely crowded brim 4pm to 5pm as All 3 Scandinavian capitals are served within about 90minutes
this lounge is good only in comparison with typical US carrier lounges. cold snacks is not a food for C class pax. I am using LH Senator lounge where ever avail in US, or the preferred option TK lounge. Will fly out of EWR this Saturday-will head to LH Senator lounge. they have decent not great selection of hot dishes and reasonable wine list.
We were flying with TAP Air Portugal Airlines from Terminal B, and, strictly speaking, were eligible to United Polaris Lounge in Terminal C, for our booking was made via United Airlines, plus TAP and United both belong to the same Star Alliance. However, a visit to a very spacious, luxurious and accommodating Polaris lounge would have required getting outside and taking a shuttle ride, which is an easy task we have done it in the past but also somewhat bothersome if you are just planning to relax before your flight. Instead, we were shown into a business class lounge of yet another member of Star Alliance, this of SAS Airlines. Well, we are not 100% sure it was the right decision. First and foremost, it gets extremely crowded, up to a point that finding any spot to seat, including the high bar stools, may get problematic. After a certain time, probably after boarding of SAS own flight is completed, on or around 5 PM, the lounge becomes almost deserted, but before that the setting is very far from relaxing. Please refer to our photographs and you will see the big difference "before and after". The salad bar is limited, but the turkey pastrami cut in very generous slices was great. The veggies, fruits, chips, and cookies are also offered, even though, again, in limited assortment. The choice of alcoholic beverages is good. Overall, a good alternative if one is unwilling to leave Terminal B.
Stopped in at 10pm. Hot foods included macaroni and cheese, steamed vegetables, and chicken noodle soup. Rating 4 stars because the vegetables were wonderfully cooked and the Mac and cheese was surprisingly good. Limited self-service bar with two white wines, but I was disappointed to see Pinot Noir yet no Pinot Grigio.
Had a 5 hour layover. It was nice to not sit in the terminal and get something to eat and drink. There wasn't a large variety of food to choose, it was over lunch so all that was offered was cold food. Bread for sandwiches very dry and hard, one choice of meat, no cheese or anything else offered to make a sandwich. There was a good selection of beverage options, soda, coffee, tea, 2 choices of beer, 3 choices of wine, many options for liquor. The lounge furniture was not kept up, stains all over. I was hoping it would be nicer, but overall it was a good experience.
A good lounge accessible for UA gold members flying in economy on purely domestic itineraries. However this falls short compared to the Lufthansa lounge just across the hall. The food over there is hot, self-serve and a lot better quality. This lounge only serves pre-wrapped foods and it was still tasty but not as good as the LH lounge. Plenty of self-serve alcohol here though.
Nice and quiet with lots of sofas. Only one warm option, if you don't eat meat. Sallad, bread and hard bread. There were coffe and cookies. Crisps and beer, wine and other spirits. I would have liked som more warm options for vegans.
Everything but the food was ok. Serving Mac n cheese and boiled sausage isn't really nice. I prefered the onflight food.
