DO NOT STORE HERE. OUR UNIT WAS BROKEN INTO AND STUFF WAS STOLEN. POOR SECURITY. SPEND EXTRA MONEY ON A UNIT THAT IS SAFE AND HAS HIGH SECURITY AND NOT GENERIC LOCKS

Do not rent a truck from this location. I recently moved my family and I to Columbus, Ohio from Colorado Springs, CO. After doing some price quotes on rental moving trucks, I found that Budget was the best deal, having a down payment of about $600 with unlimited miles. Compared to U-Haul, it was significantly cheaper. I booked the rental and went to retrieve the truck. The woman at the counter, nominated to be the employee of the quarter, was helpful, but threw me off when she told me to not contact her if there were any problems with the truck. We did the walk-through inspection of the truck to record any pre-existing damage. Having the customer perform this task with the renter would seem like a fair practice, but to assume that the customer should know what kinds of damage to look for is not fair. After feeling confident that we had found every dent, scratch and cosmetic issue, I signed a gigantic packet full of consents. The trip was great, we didn't experience any issues with the truck, we didn't attempt to take the truck through any drive-through fast food restaurants and we took extra care to make sure that nothing happened to damage the vehicle. After our trip we went to return it to the designated location in Lancaster, Ohio. After the businesswoman inspected the truck herself, she noted that the "corner cap" on the top of the truck was broken and that there was a hole in it. This was a part of the truck that I had overlooked in the original inspection with the lady in Colorado. The woman in Lancaster stated that since it had not been recorded, that I would be charged a total of $300 for the damages. She contacted the woman in Colorado Springs and was told that the damage was caused by me. Nowhere did I receive any information about who to call to dispute this claim. From my understanding, some idiot who had rented the truck before I did decided to take the truck through a drive through, damaged the truck, returned it without anyone noting the damage and got away scott-free without being charged an extra cent. Not only will I never rent from Budget again, I will make sure that I tell anyone I know who is thinking about using this company to move that this company, and these specific locations have terrible customer service and should be sued. This company believes that the customer is always wrong, and they expect the average Jill to have extensive knowledge in common damages that these trucks usually get. I guess that kind of customer service warrants you a nomination to be employee of the quarter. Dont rent from this location.
