Wasn't expecting a lot at first, it looks like a simple place from the outside but is actually beautifully decorated on the inside. There is a mix of Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese food here, which surprised me; the options are endless! We ordered the Vietnamese curry and Hong Kong Style Beef which came with broccoli and rice, both were delicious!! Service was very friendly and refilled our waters without us asking. Would recommend to anyone who wants some relatively decent-priced food in Salt Lake!!

I travel a lot for work and I usually struggle to find a good place to eat, when I say I was left speechless I mean it!  Food and service were phenomenal!  I would come back here and make it my go-to spot anytime I am in town.Food: 5/5

We have literally been going to this restaurant for decades. We don’t live in the state anymore but when we come to visit we make at least one stop here. It has been a must. This time was unfortunately not so great. We have had issues with customer service in the past but for many years that was no longer a problem. This time our server was very unaccommodating. I have ALWAYS been able to swap mushrooms for broccoli with no problems, another person in my party has always been able to swap one chicken dish for another when ordering his favorite combo meal, but this waiter either refused the swap or offered it with a price hike?? Extra for broccoli instead of mushrooms. Huh? When the check came I saw that he had added a set tip amount to the check…for a party of five. Again, huh?? I was a server for several years and I have NEVER heard of this for a table this small. We’ll probably be back for another chance because the owner has been so good to us but I really would hate to get this same waiter again!!!

Dinner at #ShanghaiCafe was great we enjoyed #FreshSpringRolls with #PeanutSauce #BeefPho #LemonChicken and a favorite dish #SingaporeNoodles Beverage was hot tea. We brought home leftovers and enjoyed them as another meal.Food: 5/5

This is my second favorite vietnamese restaurant. Ive been coming here for decades now. I love everything I've ever ordered here. Including their vegetarian dishes. I particularly go to Shanghai for their soups. They are not pho. They have other soups that are so amazing. And after trying many a spring rolls...these are still my favorites. The food quality and taste is consistently on point. It's pretty quick service too. And the prices are very good. We used to eat here twice a week at least.  Vegetarian options: Half their menu is vegetarian.

Normally I have a good experience here but last night I ordered take out and my son got the spicy noodle soup and when he took a bite there was a metal shaving in it. Luckily he did not swallow. I also ordered the vegetarian tempura combo and the pot stickers were pork. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth which is too bad cause I love this place.

Loved this place! The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious with plenty of vegan options listed under the veggie section of the menu. The food is cheap like $7-10/plate depending on what you get and made it from the kitchen to our table within 10 minutes. They have tv's displaying the food they serve so you have a better idea of what's on the menu which I thought was a really creative idea. They don't rip you off with proportions either, we left with plenty of leftovers! Hot/iced tea is free! Loved the atmosphere, the food, and above all the staff! I can see why this place is a local favorite. Highly recommend! We will be back!

My family has gone here for over 25 years. It is our favorite Chinese restaurant & where we go for special occasions! I love the taste of everything I've ever ordered but usually end up getting my favorite dishes, all vegetarian with soy 'chicken'. They also offer meat dishes, so any meat eaters can get what they want as well. When I'm buying, everyone eats veggie, but my meat-eating kids don't mind because they love the soy 'meat'!  My favorites all soy chicken Moo Goo Gai Pan, Mu Shu Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken. Also veggie Won Ton Soup & Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls. My kids also like the Hot & Sour Soup, & the beef & seafood dishes.  Vegetarian options: There is a complete separate vegetarian menu as well as a separate meat menu. A lot of variety to choose from. This is the only place I've ever found that does a perfect vegetarian Sweet & Sour Chicken!

I had been going here for years and I found myself today remembering this place and wondering why it had been so long since I had come back.  Two canned ingredients is too many. There is no reason to not cut fresh mushrooms.  The fresh spring rolls are huge, but that's all just noodles. They are meh.
