Year-round, this is an awesome Connecticut State park. One of a few western shoreline beaches offering ample beach access. Direct road off Rt 95 exit.
A renovated pavilion offers refreshments in-season. Off-season, free parking and lots of walking paths to enjoy this picture-perfect water line park.
Plenty of parking with close proximity to the neach.
In-season, early arrival is mandatory for good parking and beach location. Crowds frequently and parking lots fill up.

Sherwood Island SP is a really cool park on the LI Sound that has an expansive beach with huge boulders. It is a very peaceful place with great views of the Sound. Definitely one of the best coastal parks in CT.

Beautiful State Park with views of Long Island in the distance. Long stretch of beach with many interesting shells and not-too-rocky sand. Many picnic tables, plenty of room for visitors to stretch out without being on top of one another.

Nice park. Entry fee is $22 per car in summer. Nice beach , views, leaving lots of picnic areas.

It's quiet during fall and winter months. The beach has plenty of room, but not as big as Seaside Park or the beach in Lordship. Nice place, but they didn't have to cut down most of the trees.
