I love SJ Riding Camp so much! All of the campers are so nice as well as the counselors. I've met some of my closest friends at SJ, and some of my favorite horses. All of the cabins are cute and rustic but you don't notice them. The girls in my riding group were all really nice. This year will be my 3rd year going to SJ and i'm sad I only have a couple years left to go.

The best camp ever. The staff was almost perfect. Horses were great. The only faults were some of the younger campers were coming into my cabin and taking stuff of mine and destroyed it. Also a few campers are stuck up brats, but that is to be expected with Equestrians. Injurys are a prominent part of camp, as with all Equestrian activities. I was sent to the emergency room after being kicked in the head by an unruly horse. Counselors also are amazing and do everything they can for you. I went last summer for three weeks and it was absolutely amazing, despite its rough patches. I have already signed up for next year's 1st session camp. I meet my best friend there and we are practically sisters we are so close. The treatment of the horses was not as great as it could have been. There had to be at least two horses lame at all times and then the next day the had a rider on them, also the stall are just standing stalls but only some of the horses are in there for about 15 minutes at a time for eating. Schedule is very nice, the only part of the day that is scheduled is riding and meals you get to pick the rest. Also rest hour is more like 3 hours, which is nice. I have been riding for 5 years and this camp taught me so much more than weekly lessons because of the 2 daily lesson, weather permitting. Overall I love this camp and will go for years to come.

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had. The place is falling apart. The 40 something horses are kept in stalls where they can't turn around and there are at least ten lame horses at any given point. For the one week that I stayed there, I was put in a riding program that taught me nothing whatsoever. Our lessons basically consisted of trotting over cross rails and cantering in circles. I hoped to improve at riding and gain more experiences, but that was not possible. Most of the counselors don't even ride and/or have any experience with animals. Overall an awful experience and I would not recommend this to anyone. Also the food is absolutely nasty, literally starved myself for a week. Please save yourself thousands of dollars and never attend this falling apart excuse for a summer camp. I promise you will want your money back.

It was OK. I was put in a very low group, as was my sister. I had been riding for 5 years and was put in a group w girls who had been riding for 1 year. Food was good, but other activities didn't have much substance. many girls were very mean and stuck up. made a few friends. Some counselors were mean or stuck up. Many were nice though, especially Amelia, Aspen and Petal! over all okay experience.

Best camp ever! Very well organized, friendly staff, great activities and most important excellent horse back riding opportunities. My daughter has attended the past two summers and it is her favorite!
