Reviews
All the five star reviews are from people who work at slatter or are friends with someone who works there. Don't be fooled. Very Rude. Obviously don't care about people. Too corporate. The people making decisions aren't even on site, and seem like they think of customers as basically just numbers. They make it clear that they are okay with being rude and it doesn't bother them. Horrible company

I am a 10 year resident at a community managed by Slatter where I served on the Board of Directors for 8 years. Our managers, Kay Thornton and Andrea Underwood were always professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. They continually went above and beyond in helping us with projects and concerns, and always anticipated issues that we needed to be made aware of. They helped to make us a strong and effective HOA.

Kay Thornton at Slatter is FANTASTIC -we received our proposal quickly and when Kay met with our Board she was honest, giving us alot of useful information and helping to explain some more complex issues with our covenants and bi-laws. She did not feel we would benefit from a management company, and was 'up front ' with us about things we were doing right and ways to improve our current situation. She even got back to me after our meeting and answered some additional questions. I really like Kay and found her to be professional, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

As the president of out local HOA, I have only been working with the people at Slatter for a few months. We transitioned to them after we were extremely disappointed in the service we had been receiving from our previous management company. The difference has been night and day. We could not be happier. Phone calls get answered and returned, emails are not ignored, responsibility for handling things that we should have never been involved with has now been taken on by them.
I know that management companies sometime get a bad name because they are the ones that are tasked with inforcing the rules. Please keep in mind, as you may read other negative reviews, that they do not make the rules, they only in force them. Also keep in mind that when the people that are complaining purchased their property they signed a statement attesting to the fact that they were aware of the rules, given a copy of the rules, and agreed to abide by those rules. So if you are a home owner who pays your dues on time and keeps your property up according to the bylaws, you will love working with Slatter. If not, you will be on here posting a bad review.

I lived at a Slatter Managed property in Greensboro and was treated poorly and spoken to disrespectfully(I won't mention the name); and I chalked it up to the fact I was leasing and given the owner's - who actually once contacted the company about how I was being treated - authority with all aspects of the property.
I less that a year ago purchased a home and learned that Slatter also managed that property; to my chagrin. I have been in my new home for 7 months now. There was no hesitation to contact me for HOA dues, which were promptly paid. However when it came time for a meeting(which I understand to be an annual), I received the letter on the day AFTER, the meeting that was Postmarked, for the day OF the meeting - I still have it and the envelope. I also worked at the post office so I know how bulk mailings work.
There was No type of welcome from Slatter or any community representative. I am not a Facebook user - as some other residents I've spoken to - so therefore receive, NO CURRENT information about the community events, changes or information - which should not be the case because internet, computer and Facebook membership are not included in my dues.
Not mad...just honest. I love my home and neighbors. The community is great. I see things that could probably make it better and more inviting; but my treatment has made me feel I myself; am not even invited.
Hopeful
