My first experience here I came in trying to get some work done on the bike. The owner was very rude and acted as if he didn't have the time for my questions when I had just spent $150. My second experience I took the bike in for some work that he had previously quoted the job over the phone. Upon arriving he stated that he couldn't make enough profit off of it for the quoted price. I'm currently at motion makers in sylva which was well worth the drive. They also appreciate the business. The owner of smoky mountain bicycles was very rude and not helpful at all.

I took my bike to Smoky Mountain Bicycles last week to have some upgrades made on it, and to have it serviced. The first thing that I noticed when I went to pick it up, was that both of my tires were flat. When I brought this to the bike shop owners attention, he acted as if he didn't believe me and actually pushed down on the tires himself, and I thought, how could he have missed this in the first place? When he saw that I was right, he didn't seem to care, as he never even offered to pump them back up for me. Keep in mind that I had just had my bike (serviced), at a cost of $79.99, and that I had just spent over $160.00 on new parts. I also mentioned that the new seat that he had put on did not look level, he argued that he had used a level, and that it was. Of course when I got home, I checked the seat with my level, and I found that the seat was not level, surprise! The next thing I noticed after re-inflating my tires, was that both the front and the back brake pads that he had installed were actually dragging on my rims, one of the pads was even rubbing one of my tires, so again, I had to re-do the work of this so-called bicycle mechanic myself. I am not a novice bicyclist, I have over 5000 miles of riding on the roads, and over the years, I have taken my bikes to many different bike shops around the country. Smoky Mountain Bicycles was for me, by far, the worst experience that I have had with any bike shop anywhere. I found the owner to be both very rude and argumentative, and I found his mechanical competence to be simply laughable.

Staff are great to work with and really know what they are talking about. It's a small shop, but they have a good selection of Trek bikes; if they don't have it, they can get it pretty quick. Pricing is also really reasonable, even compared to online retailers (which normally run cheaper than "brick and mortar" shops.

Very helpful. I already knew what bike I wanted and they were quick with getting me set up and installing my speedometer/odometer for me. Works like a charm.
You also get a free water bottle with purchase of a bike. Will definitely go back in the future. Do not go expecting cheap walmart bikes. These bikes are for serious riders only.
