My dear friend has been in this Nursing Home for a year. Some of the nursing staff are caring and wonderful but the overall care is below the expected professional level. No one in a nursing home should EVER have stage 3 or stage 4 bed sores! Yet this happened through neglect at this facility. I would NOT recommend this as a safe place for a loved one.

My dad was a patient in rehab in June to July 2016.
A (LPN) name Karen refused medical attention when my dad got sick. I had to call 911. Karen yelled at my family and I for calling 911. Karen kept on yelling let him die!!! :(
Renee a nurse didn't give my dad any care, when the rescue was taking him to the hospital, she kept on saying to me "Are you sure that you want to do this"?
My dad had a fever of 104 when he went to the ER. A Pakistani doctor kept on giving my dad vicodin because he didn't like wear some inflatable shoes. The nurses kept on drugging up my dad. My dad also had a stage 4 bedsore when he was at South County nursing home. My dad was covered in vomit for hours before a CNA would clean him up. Karen LPN told me that I have to remove his stuff right away or I will have to pay $285, I wouldn't stay there for free. Stage 4 bed sores made my dad be in pain.
Worst Nuring home in the state of Rhode Island!!

If your loved one needs Rehabilitation and a temporary stay in the rehab unit, then they are wonderful. My mom who had signs of dementia went in there after lung surgery due to Cancer for rehab and did great. PT was excellent, nurses were great and the aides were caring and attentive, mom thrived and made a full recovery and headed home. The long term care facilities are a different story entirely. My mother was having a stroke, speaking gibberish, could barley move one side and drooling. The nurses and staff ignored my sisters concern telling them "she was having a stroke" They tried to give my mother water and her pills that she choked on because she couldn't swallow. They finally called the rescue not 911 but a private ambulance, my mother waited over 45 minutes for a private ambulance because that was the nursing home policy. My mother made it to the hospital too late to get meds that may or may not have helped with the stroke. By the time she got to the hospital she couldn't move her entire right side. The next day the nursing home called to see if I wanted to pay to hold her bed. 2 days later all her things were thrown in boxes and put in a garage. My mother was in the hospital on hospice for 17 days suffering from thrush in her mouth, a hand, arm and leg so swollen they didn't look real and a voice that could no longer speak to us except to whisper "help" when she was conscious and recognized us. Please Please stay away from the long term care in this place. They are understaffed and poorly trained. They have no concern or compassion for any of their patients or their family members. No condolences, no apologies, no remorse and no accountability. STAY AWAY!

Been here multiple times, I do not recommend this facility. management sucks they treat there staff horribly they have no respect ! Some registered nurses are rude to patients the only really good thing about this place is the rehab.
