Southwest Moving and Relocation handled our move from Ivins UT to Valley Center CA over March 23-25, 2018. While we did most of the packing ourselves, Angie packed our artwork (~50 paintings), flat screen TVs, and audio equipment such that they could be efficiently loaded into the truck. On the day of our move (3/23), the crew was super-efficient and careful with our furniture and possessions. Furniture was well wrapped and protected, including a custom-built dining room table. We were on our way out of the house by mid-afternoon.
The unload on 3/25 at Valley Center was quite a sight to behold. The new home is in a very hilly area of North San Diego County. We were located at the top of a hill with access by a 1 mile long narrow winding hilly road. Gail had looked at the access from Google Earth and determined there was no obvious way to turn the rig around at the top of the hill. He scoped the path out with one of his LA crew members. They determined a point for a turnaround that was ½ mile up the road. That meant Gail had to BACK his full-size rig on the crazy access road for the other ½ mile. Truly amazing. BUT, it is not over yet…… Once he got to the top of the hill he had to negotiate backing the rig our 150’ uphill driveway that is oriented at a less than optimal angle for a smooth direct back in the from the narrow access road.
Once the truck was stabilized and everyone had a chance to catch their breath, the unload started with the LA based crew. That went exceptionally well. Like the load crew, the guys were very efficient. Now that we today (4/30) finally unpacked the last painting (after waiting for the builder to finish punch list painting, etc.). We can say we had ZERO damage to anything.
It was a joy and blessing for us to work with Gail, Angie, and the stellar/efficient load and unload crews. Quite the opposite of our move to Ivins in 2014 using one of the large national brands, where we had extensive damage and a chaotic unload. I am more than happy to provide a personal recommendation, as Gail can provide my contact information. There are a couple of photos of the crazy backup on their Facebook page.

Many stressors were added to our move by this company and its packing staff. If not for the kindness of the driver, I would have given them 0 stars. First of all, this company doesn't do across country moves often, something we were not told until the trailer was packed. We moved from So. Nevada to Minnesota. They gave us a good price to wait for 3 weeks for our things to be delivered, giving them time to find a load to drive back. If it had been 3 weeks, it may have been ok but their long distance truck had to stop 3 times for repairs making the total time over a month. We were given some cash to pay for additional hotel nights so we got past that. An unload crew on our end got things moved in and we started to unpack. This was a nightmare! EXAMPLE: A box was labeled, "kitchen". 3/4 of the box had kitchen items but then had part of our electric toothbrushes - just the brush end, not the chargers. A couple of days later, we found the chargers in a box of books. This happened in almost EVERY SINGLE BOX. Very frustrating. Plus, I am missing my best serving dishes, all my mixing bowls and my stand up mixer. And today, I finally needed to gain entry into our small safe that's attached inside a piece of furniture and it obviously looks like someone tried to break into it. I had to really work to get it to open. We've been here every night since we moved and when I placed some items into it the night before we left, it was fine. It's been 6 months and this is still happening. Do yourself a favor. Don't hire this company!

I called southwest moving company to get some pricing on moving a piano locally. The move is just a little over a mile in distance. The guy I spoke to on the phone was very rude and short with his answers which I just chocked up to him being busy. When he quoted me a price of $280 I thought I better call around and see if that is a fair price. I called three other moving companies and the price ranged form $120 to $150. I guess this was just to small of job for the people over at Southwest.

Southwest was fast, friendly, and affordable. We moved from Ivins, UT to Utah Valley. We were impressed by their system for protecting items in transit, covering furniture in packing blankets, then shrink-wrapping them. All of our things made it to the new location in great condition. Thanks, Southwest!

Southwest moving broke our 65 inch plasma tv worker said the dent was not there when they loaded it on the truck! We ask the owner if we should get a box for it and he said he would take care of it, his care was to wrap it in a blanket. The screen was also cracked. They broke my antique kitchen table the worker stated that he noticed that it had not locked down on that side yet they did nothing to secure it. When told about the damage the head delivery driver said to get prices to replace the items. The owner then told my husband he only had to pay .69 cents per pound, because we didn't buy insurance. Of course he never mentioned anything about needing insurance. They told my husband they estimated it to be $200.00. I called to talk to the owner and he would not let me talk every time I tried he interrupted me or hung up on me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They will rip you off if they damage or break anything.
