Ssyal - Chicago Korean Restaurant

We tried to get in some other place up the street, but there was an insane wait, so we walked to this restaurant instead. It was good. I couldn't eat it all and took half of it to go. My friend got the pork ribs. Metal chopsticks and a spoon. Complimentary water. Ginseng is a specialty. I had a delicious ginseng shake, and a shot of ginseng wine that tasted like hard alcohol. All in all an enjoyable time with fresh ingredients

The best rice cake I have had! The Korean pancake is to die for. So is the pork bulgogi and the ribs. The prices are really affordable. The people there are so nice and going there always brings about so many warm feelings. I definitely recommend it!

Great place for traditional, Korean chicken soup, Sahm-gye-tang. Eat it in the summer

Personally I thought they have the nicest ajumma in any Korean restaurants around Chicago. They were so attentive, caring, and helpful. They weren't annoyed at all like many other places when you asked too many questions or asked for too many things. They kept offering us more banchan too!!! They have the best pajeon!!!! Actually everything was very good overall. Not the best soondubu ever, but not bad at all when everything else was good also. Very satisfied!! It was definitely worth the drive up North and they have a parking lot in the back!
