Not all Starbucks are created equally... I feel as though this one has room for improvement, but I work in the area so nonetheless,I frequent this location probably more than I'd like to admit. If you are going to go to this location, I highly suggest that you do a mobile order and also do it in advance of the suggested app time. I have never been to this location and had it been "dead". There is always a line to or outside of the door. The service is generally pretty quick and the customer service is polite. However, there is a lot of confusion about picking up mobile orders and who is in charge of making sure they are getting into the correct customer's hands. The store could use some additional cleaning help, it generally looks like they got hit with a busy wave of people, which probably is the case all the time.
I don't know what it is with this location, but their Iced Lattes always taste horrible, almost like they use soy milk instead of regular. Something just isn't right. They don't even look like how they're supposed to...The photo on the left is what they usually look like and the one on the right is what I always get from this location. Plus my bagel was charred to the point of it being inedible. UPDATE: Went again today at 7/31/17 against my better judgement and got an Iced Latte and it's still horrible. I don't know what this Starbucks does to their beans, but every coffee I get from there just tastes horrible. Super bitter and burnt tasting. Don't bother with this one.
Average downtown Starbucks. Lines can get long but service is reasonably fast and there’s an outdoor seating area.
This place is run by unprofessional and rude people. They never ever get my order right and I have to wait over thirty minutes to get a simple coffee. They talk among themselves and laugh and ignore the customers. Many times they put regular milk instead of soy milk in my drink and I was sick for days. I have contacted the HQ who also haven't done anything. I am very disappointed in the HQ as well. I have been a customer for over 15 years and this is what I get. I will never go to this location again. The staff is not trained properly, and have no clue as to what customer service is all about.
This location gets progressively worse with each visit. Poor customer service and the drinks are just okay. Never had a problem until today when I ordered a drink and found my cup had only a half cup of coffee... the rest was all cream. Since I was in a rush for work, I never paid attention until I got to work and sat down. I'm not upset at all... more of an incentive to bring my own breakfast with me. Congrats guys... you lost a customer.
I frequent this Starbucks as I work nearby. If you are going to do a mobile order do it earlier than the app says. There are a lot of hotels near here so the store often times receives an influx of customers/mobile orders and they are not prepared to handle it. Very limited seating however there are outdoor tables here for when the weather is nice.
The employees are always rude and nasty it doesn't cost anything to smile and say good morning but Starbucks must take it out of there checks for smiling and being pleasant. I really think that the employees need to go to a customer service class or bring in a whole new crew. I didn't even want to give it one star. You go in and buy expensive coffee you should be able to get decent customer service. I think those employees need to remember who pays there rent put food on the table. If it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't have a job.
I went to this Starbucks many times because it's the closest to where I work but most of my experiences haven't been great. I work the midnight shift and wait all night for them to open at 5 am. More than once at 5am they're not open. 5:05 am they're not open. 5:08, not open again. On Thursday, 5/22, I waited until 5:10 am. An employee walked right past me and the other people standing at the door to put milk on the condiment counter, looked at us and still did not open the door. It's not like they didn't know we were standing there. I decided that moment that that location had lost my business. Another man said the same thing. When they did open, you better hope there was someone there that knew how to make a frappuccino, or an espresso drink because not all employees were trained. More than once I had to wait for someone to come from the back to make my drink. I now drive to the one in the SE which is always open on time or the one in the SW. I get Starbucks everyday, but I won't be making my runs to this location any more.
When you pay four dollars for drip coffee at Starbucks you're paying for the experience. For the company that developed the coffee experience they have forgotten what made them such a success. Bathrooms were dirty, empty boxes everywhere and a general feel of unkemptness. On a side note, the coffee was good.
This is by far one of the best coffeehouse experiences I've ever had in DC. Julie was completely awesome! I explained to her that I love tea, but unfortunately that I can only drink decafinated. She suggested some cool flavors and some of which could mix well together. I saw her offering the same help for other customers, and I could tell that she really got into her job. As you can imagine how crazy this place gets in the mornings, I was really impressed. I will definitely have to take this detour again!
